
IT Systems Administrator – CMMC Implementation (Remote)

About the Role
Broadway Ventures is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator with CMMC implementation experience to support our organization in achieving and maintaining Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance. This role will play a critical part in assessing current systems, implementing required controls, and guiding the organization through the CMMC readiness and certification process.
Key Responsibilities
- Support CMMC implementation efforts
- Conduct gap assessments against CMMC/NIST SP 800-171 requirements
- Assist with the development and updates to the System Security Plan (SSP) and POA&M
- Implement and document security controls, policies, and procedures
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance across systems and processes
- Support audit readiness and evidence collection
- Secure IT infrastructure (IAM, endpoint security, networks, cloud)
- Provide guidance on best practices for federal compliance environments
- Assist with ongoing monitoring and maintenance post-certification
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an IT or Systems Administrator
- Experience with CMMC implementation or NIST SP 800-171 compliance
- Experience developing SSPs and POA&Ms
- Strong understanding of security controls and frameworks
- Experience with Microsoft 365 / Azure or similar platforms
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CMMC Level 2 or higher
- Experience with ISSO and CMMI Certification process
- Familiarity with DoD environments
- Certifications: Security+, CISSP, CISM, CCP, or CCA
- Experience with compliance/security tools
- One of the following certifications:
- CCP – Certified CMMC Professional
- CCA – Certified CMMC Assessor
Work Schedule
Initial Phase: ~30 hours/week
Ongoing Phase: Transition to part-time (10–20 hours/week)
