The Construction Leader excels at communication with trade partners and customers alike, to enthusiastically build custom homes on scattered sites.  The Construction Leader ensures that the homes are built on budget, on schedule, and defect free while delivering an excellent customer experience.  

Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the construction of custom single-family homes within Brown Haven's standards of excellence established by construction plans, building codes, specifications and buyer’s contract
  • Update construction schedules in software daily
  • Conduct site evaluations and complete construction checklists
  • Take responsibility for accuracy of Purchase Orders, plans and finishes
  • Manage all trades, from lot clearing through closing, in order to complete homes on time, within budget, and with Brown Haven Homes’ high expectation for quality.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier, trade partner, and building inspector relationships. Train & enforce company's quality and performance standards to each trade partner and supplier
  • Provide oversight for the accuracy of quantities and pricing required to protect budgets and trade partner relationships
  • Engage, learn and maintain thorough knowledge of ever-changing construction practices, materials, building codes and OSHA requirements
  • Adhere to company safety program and assure safety of employees, trade partners, and others on-site
  • Stay current on industry trends by reading publications, talking with material suppliers, and attending continuing education events
  • Train and understand systems and process as they relate to client meetings, job site conditions, purchase orders, and construction specifications and building codes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • 2+ years' residential construction experience 
  • Aptitude to comprehend blueprints and all construction-related documents
  • Self-motivated individual with high energy, attention to detail, positive attitude, and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills; multi-tasking and managing projects in multiple communities required

Working Conditions

  • Predominantly construction sites where temperature and noise levels vary.
  • Travel required between work sites.
  • Must be able to walk or climb in a construction environment and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • General work schedule is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, Saturdays by appointment, with additional hours as necessary.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $90,000 USD
