Summary:
The Sr. Director of Supply Chain is responsible for developing and leading the company’s global supply chain strategy, encompassing procurement, logistics, planning, and inventory management to support business growth, operational excellence, and compliance within a regulated medical device environment. This role is instrumental in driving cross-functional alignment, supplier performance, cost optimization, and end-to-end process scalability as the organization expands. The ideal candidate brings deep supply chain expertise in the medical device industry, demonstrated success in executive-level leadership, and a track record of building world-class supply chain functions. This is an in-office position based in Pleasanton, CA.
In This Role, You Will:
- Strategic Supply Chain Leadership: Develop and lead the execution of a comprehensive global supply chain strategy aligned with company goals, supporting scalability, innovation, and operational efficiency.
- Inventory Optimization: Drive inventory strategy and planning processes to balance working capital and service levels across all product lines and manufacturing stages.
- Supplier Strategy & Qualification: Lead global sourcing strategy and supplier management efforts in collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure high-performing, compliant, and cost-effective partnerships.
- Process Development & Scalability: Build and evolve supply chain processes and infrastructure to support growth, new product introductions, and global expansion, with a focus on long-term scalability and risk mitigation.
- Cost Reduction & Operational Efficiency: Identify and lead strategic cost reduction initiatives, including supplier consolidation, contract negotiations, make/buy analysis, and low-cost country sourcing.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Define and manage robust KPIs and reporting frameworks to monitor supply chain effectiveness, supplier performance, and risk indicators.
- ERP & Systems Strategy: Own the strategic roadmap for ERP (NetSuite) and related systems to enhance data visibility, forecasting, and decision-making across the supply chain function.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure all supply chain activities are fully compliant with FDA, ISO, and QMS standards and support ongoing audit readiness and regulatory inspections.
- Executive Collaboration & Leadership: Serve as a key member of the operations leadership team, providing strategic input and partnership across R&D, Quality, Finance, and Commercial functions.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing supply chain organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Who You Will Report To:
- Senior Vice President, Operations
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including 7+ years in senior leadership roles within the medical device or regulated life sciences industry.
- ERP Expertise: Demonstrated success implementing and optimizing ERP systems; NetSuite experience highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and supply chain analytics tools.
- Organizational Skills: Strategic thinker with strong executional discipline and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & Negotiation: Strong executive communication and negotiation skills, with experience managing complex supplier and stakeholder relationships.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Proven ability to establish and sustain global supplier networks, including performance management and risk mitigation.
- Teamwork & Leadership: Experienced leader of cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, with a commitment to mentoring and team development.
- Employee Development and Management: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop both professional and hourly staff in a growth-focused environment.
- Problem-Solving & Urgency: Ability to anticipate and resolve complex supply chain challenges with a proactive, data-driven approach.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep knowledge of FDA and ISO regulatory requirements applicable to medical device supply chain operations.
- Certifications: APICS, Six Sigma, or other supply chain-related certifications are a plus.
