The Position:

Cannabis & Glass is looking to add a knowledgeable Inventory Manager (IM) to our Ontario team. Join the most exciting and fastest-growing industry in Oregon! If you enjoy working with cannabis, this is the right job for you. Inventory Managers will work in the shop to ensure deliveries are processed accurately and on time.

Inventory Managers will also be responsible for training and development in all aspects of packaging. They will collaborate with departments across the company to ensure that all required materials are consistently stocked in the shop, and that vendors are delivering according to company standards. Additionally, they will work alongside other assistant managers on inventory-related tasks when there is no packaging to be completed.

Essential Functions:

  • Foster a fun and safe work environment for all Cannabis & Glass retail employees.
  • Manage retail sales associates packaging tasks.
  • Ensure C&G inventory remains accurate and complies to law enforcement standards.
  • Measure employee packaging and labeling performance to document feedback and training.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety standards of the store, with an emphasis on the bulk flower stations.
  • Hold team members accountable to company standards, policies, and bulk packaging expectations.
  • Work with management to ensure labels are processed and received within the expected time frame.
  • Ensure the bulk packaging and labeling stations are kept sanitized and organized per company expectations.
  • Work with purchasing to ensure manifest information is relayed to the label creator within the expected time frame.
  • Work with vendors to ensure purchasing receives manifest information within the  expected time frame.  Brainstorm and implement solutions for vendors that are unable to comply.
  • Work with vendors to improve delivery practices of orders.
  • Train and develop staff on the process and expectations of bulk packaging.
  • Ensure scale and label makers are constantly calibrated and maintained.  Train staff members on calibration of packaging machines.
  • Using independent judgment and discretion, discipline and coach team members as they deem necessary and appropriate short of termination to ensure proper operations and conduct. For all recommended terminations, review with HR and/or managers before final action is taken
  • Ability to work a set schedule, exhibit reliable attendance, and demonstrate punctuality.
  • Ability to open and close retail locations and remain on-site for your entire shift (except during breaks).
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Job duties may include work indoors and outdoors during all seasons, 365 days/year.
  • Employees may be exposed to difficult or stressful customer situations requiring patience and professionalism to effectively handle.
  • Work duties may require sedentary activities, active standing, stooping, and/or kneeling.
  • Retail stores are open 365 days a year with shifts typically occurring between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for up to eight hours per day.
  • Must be able to proficiently operate computers, tablets and other productivity machinery and technology.
  • Must be able to reliably arrive at work on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder to service displays, products, or service ceiling lights.
  • Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Must be able to move about the retail store, as needed, to assist customers and perform required functions.
  • Must be able to remain in a designated work area for up to eight hours per day with the exception of breaks as required by law.
  • Must be able to position oneself to access products within all areas of the store.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate information and ideas so customers and coworkers will understand. Must be able to convey and exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to continue to assist customers and coworkers during and after stressful situations resulting from customer service interactions.
  • Must be able to accurately observe details at close range in order to recognize, identify, detect, determine and assess objects.
  • Must be able to accurately weigh products and provide quality control to the packaging process.
  • Must be able to calibrate and troubleshoot packaging machines.
  • Must be able to accurately store and manage bulk inventory within the shop.
  • Must be able to prepare, place and position retail products or items.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate information displayed on digital screens.
  • Must be able to perform other job duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a GED or high school diploma.
  • Must commit to coming to work sober. We love cannabis but we do not get high on the job.
  • Previous MJ inventory, production, and packaging experience is strongly preferred; although, we are open to experience from other industries as long as it's applicable to this role.
  • Inventory experience is preferred but not required.
  • We do not require previous professional experience in the cannabis industry but would strongly prefer the applicant be a regular consumer of the product.
