Director, Analytics

Denver or NYC - Hybrid

Location: Hybrid (Local to NYC or Denver Metropolitan areas)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Director of Analytics to lead our growing analytics team. This role requires deep expertise in data analysis, reporting frameworks, and coding best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and mentoring large teams, prioritizing business-critical requests, and establishing a scalable data foundation to support business decisions. With more than 8 years of experience in data analytics, this leader will drive efficiency, consistency, and innovation within the organization’s analytics practice.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Oversee and mentor a large team of data analysts, ensuring professional growth and operational efficiency.
    • Set priorities, manage workloads, and ensure the team meets key business objectives.
    • Foster a data-driven culture across the organization by promoting analytical best practices.
    • Lead virtual and in-person trainings and demonstrations, facilitating adoption of new tools and best practices aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Data Strategy & Execution
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive data analytics strategy to align with business goals.
    • Establish scalable reporting frameworks and dashboards that provide actionable insights.
    • Define data governance policies and ensure adherence to coding hygiene standards.
  • Technical Excellence
    • Ensure high-quality, efficient SQL, Python, and/or R coding practices within the analytics team.
    • Lead the development of automated reporting and self-service analytics tools to support internal and external stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and infrastructure for reporting needs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
    • Partner with executives, product managers, and business leaders to understand analytics needs and prioritize requests accordingly.
    • Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Advocate for data-driven decision-making across teams and leadership.
    • Responsible for the adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience leading and scaling a data analytics team.
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, or R for data analysis, with strong coding hygiene and documentation practices.
  • Deep understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and best practices.
  • Experience implementing data governance, reporting standards, and analytics frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering fundamentals and working with cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to executives.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, driving high performance, meeting deadlines, and executing on deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in large-scale, high-growth organizations.
  • Knowledge of machine learning or advanced statistical modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

Salary Range

$145,000 - $175,000 USD
