Overview

We are seeking a Middle Office Vice President to join our high performing team, primarily providing trade support to our Fixed Income desks. This role covers the endtoend trade lifecycle and supports a broad range of fixed income products, including cleared and bilateral rates, swaptions, FX products, bonds, repos, futures, and options on futures. 

The successful candidate will partner closely with Portfolio Managers and Trading teams to ensure seamless trade execution, accurate risk representation, and robust operational controls. This is a high impact role for a proactive professional who is passionate about markets and keen to leverage technology to enhance controls, reduce manual intervention, and drive automation across middle office processes. 

Responsibilities and Impact:

Trade Support & Lifecycle Management 

  • Oversee real-time trade capture and ensure accurate booking across front-to-back systems
  • Act as a key point of contact for Portfolio Managers, supporting risk monitoring platforms and troubleshooting data or system issues
  • Monitor affirmation and matching platforms, ensuring trade economics, risk attributes, and booking details are complete and accurate
  • Manage the full trade lifecycle, including post trade amendments, event processing, and issue resolution 

Stakeholder & Counterparty Management 

  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Technology, and external counterparties to ensure timely trade allocation, confirmation, and settlement
  • Liaise directly with counterparties and custodians on corporate actions, providing clear and timely status updates to the trading and portfolio management teams 
  • Escalate and resolve breaks proactively, ensuring minimal impact to trading activity and risk reporting 

Risk, Controls & Process Improvement 

  • Support Portfolio Managers in maintaining accurate risk and P&L representation across systems
  • Act as a control point for trade accuracy and operational risk, ensuring adherence to internal policies and market best practices
  • Identify process inefficiencies and partner with Technology to deliver automation and system enhancements
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of middle office workflows, documentation, and control frameworks 

P&L & Valuations 

  • Responsible for ensuring flash P&L being sent intraday is accurate
  • Analyze PnL movements, explaining performance based on market moves, trade activity, and lifecycle events.
  • Support and sign off T+1 P&L in line with the firm’s valuation policy, challenging pricing where appropriate 

Our future colleague has these skills:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a financial services environment, preferably buyside, with solid rates exposure (convertible bonds beneficial but not required)
  • Proven ability to process a wide range of fixed income products with direct counterparty interaction and clear desk communication
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end trade lifecycle and associated controls
  • P&L analysis and valuations knowledge specific to fixed income products.
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced with the Bloomberg Terminal
  • Interest in process improvement and automation; Python or coding exposure preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The applicable base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000 USD. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
