Senior Technical Recruiter (Contract)

Sunnyvale, California, United States
At Carbon, our mission goes beyond 3D printing.  We are enabling creators everywhere to make what the world needs, right now.  Our company is built on the idea that diverse fields of study must come together to solve intractable problems. We have grand ambitions to create technology that will influence industry around the world. You will be joining a diverse team with a vibrant culture, where team success is as important as celebrating individual contributions.

Help us change the world and we will help you change yours.

This is a contract role on our People team supporting Carbon's technical hiring over approximately the next six months. You will be one of two recruiters, with dedicated recruiting coordinator support, focused on filling our hardware and software roles across the company. You will own your requisitions end to end, from kickoff with the hiring manager through a signed offer and a clean handoff into onboarding.

The person in this role will partner daily with hiring managers across engineering, hardware, software, and the broader business. This is an onsite role based out of our Sunnyvale headquarters.

This role is not eligible for current Visa sponsorship.

You will…

  • Own full lifecycle recruiting for technical roles across both hardware and software, from intake through close, partnering with hiring managers and our People Business Partners to define what a strong candidate looks like for each search.
  • Build and run proactive sourcing strategies to develop healthy pipelines of qualified hardware and software candidates, including hard to reach passive talent.
  • Build diverse, inclusive candidate pipelines as a deliberate part of every search, widening the funnel and sourcing beyond the easiest channels so that our slates reflect a broad range of backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Screen and assess candidates for technical depth and team fit, and keep every search moving with timely, structured, and candidate friendly communication.
  • Manage offers end to end, including extending and negotiating offers and clearly explaining total compensation to candidates, covering base salary, private company equity, benefits, and the overall value of the package.
  • Navigate Carbon's internal offer approval and onboarding processes so candidates move smoothly from accepted offer to start date.
  • Partner closely with the other recruiter and our recruiting coordinator to share load, hand off cleanly, and keep both candidates and hiring managers well supported.
  • Keep our applicant tracking system accurate and current, and give hiring managers clear status and pipeline updates throughout each search.
  • Represent Carbon well to every candidate, delivering a thoughtful, responsive, and human experience from first contact to offer.

You have…

  • Demonstrated in-house recruiting experience supporting both hardware and software hiring. This is a requirement for the role, not a nice to have.
  • A demonstrated commitment to building diverse pipelines and hiring teams that reflect a range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, backed by concrete sourcing practices and an approach to hiring that aligns with Carbon's values.
  • A clear track record managing full lifecycle recruiting on your own: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer, and close.
  • Strong command of offer negotiation, including the ability to explain total compensation clearly and credibly, with a solid understanding of private company equity, salary structures, and benefits.
  • Comfort working inside a company's internal offer approval and onboarding processes, with the judgment to move candidates through them efficiently.
  • Experience partnering with hiring managers as a trusted advisor rather than an order taker, and the ability to push back constructively when needed.
  • Familiarity with an applicant tracking system such as Greenhouse or Workday, and the discipline to keep your data clean and your process organized.
  • The ability to juggle multiple active technical searches at once without letting candidates or hiring managers fall through the cracks.
  • Availability to commit to a contract engagement of approximately six months.

You do not need to match every listed expectation to apply for this position. Here at Carbon, we know that diverse perspectives foster the innovation we need to be successful, and we are committed to building a team that encompasses a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills.

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
