Senior Manager, Commercial Forecasting

As the Senior Manager of Forecasting, you will develop and validate forecasts supporting our Commercial portfolio. including Testing Services, Transplant Pharmacy, Digital Solutions, Lab Products, and Lifecycle Planning. You will provide data driven insights on market trends, product performance, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics to support commercial strategy and execution.

In this role, you will partner closely with cross functional teams to translate market research, competitive intelligence, and internal data into objective forecasts that support planning activities. You will help identify business opportunities, surface potential risks, and ensure an external market perspective is incorporated into commercial and product initiatives.

Your work will support in-line products, launches, and lifecycle management by providing reliable, well-structured forecasts and scenario analyses that enable confident, informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting & Business Insights

  • Develop and maintain both near term and long-range forecasts that provide actionable insights on market trends, customer behavior, and competitive positioning.
  • Partner with Commercial team members to understand key business questions and ensure forecasts and analyses address planning needs.
  • Create, refinement, and maintain forecast models for in line and pipeline products.
  • Conduct analyses, including but not limited to scenario planning and assumption sensitivity, to assess and quantify market dynamics, competitive changes, and product uptake assumptions.

Strategic Planning & Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Market Access teams to ensure forecasts are aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide forecast insights and analytical support for portfolio planning, prioritization, and long range planning processes.
  • Contribute forecasting perspectives to cross functional discussions related to product strategy and lifecycle planning.

Data Analytics & Modeling

  • Apply forecasting methodologies including patient based forecasting, trend analysis, and event driven models.
  • Leverage epidemiological data, claims data, and patient journey insights to inform forecast assumptions.
  • Utilize statistical techniques and forecasting tools to improve forecast accuracy and flexibility.
  • Manage and update forecasts as products progress through different stages of development and commercialization.

Reporting & Process Support

  • Establish forecasting standards and processes to ensure consistency, transparency, and reliability.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for senior stakeholders that translate complex analyses into actionable insights.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of forecasting processes and tools.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MEd, or life sciences) preferred.
  • 6–8+ years of experience in the life sciences industry (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or diagnostics).
  • 3+ years of experience in forecasting, analytics, or portfolio planning.
  • Solid understanding of transplant medicine, diagnostic workflows, and healthcare provider dynamics.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market signals.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate data and analysis into clear business implications and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and work effectively with limited supervision.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in post transplant diagnostics or related therapeutic areas (e.g., nephrology, rare disease, immunology, cardiology, pulmonology, hematology).
  • Collaborative, proactive, and motivated by improving patient care through data driven insights.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and resource constraints.

This is the anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in Brisbane, California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience within the job, the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. CareDx is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
