The Role:
As an Exercise Physiologist Consultant, you will apply your expertise in exercise physiology, physical therapy, metabolic health, and health coaching to support the design and expansion of our wellness initiatives focused on exercise and metabolic health. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop evidence-based content, ensuring alignment with clinical best practices, and provide subject matter expertise (SME) on the relationship between metabolic wellness and all aspects of reproductive health during the lifecycle.
This role includes continuous review of the clinical and emerging research, keeping updated on clinical guidelines, and advising the team on improving content and programming. It is also positioned to support member-facing expert chats, offering evidence-informed education and non-directive guidance on topics related to metabolic health, lifestyle interventions, and wellness.
This is a part-time consultant position, with 10-20 hours per month of work expected.
The Team:
Our team consists of a diverse group of individuals with clinical and regulatory expertise in reproductive health, menopause, andropause, fertility, and stages of pregnancy. We are passionate about helping individuals navigate their reproductive health, family-building needs, and experience healthy aging through evidence-based, patient-centered support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and Licensing
- Degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, or a related field
- Professional certification or licensure in your field, where applicable (e.g., ACSM, NASM, PT License).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of clinical practice or coaching experience in exercise physiology, physical therapy, or a related field, with a focus on metabolic health and wellness
- Experience in designing or contributing to lifestyle intervention programs, including exercise prescriptions, behavior change strategies, and health education.
- Familiarity with research and clinical practice related to metabolic conditions impacting reproductive health during the lifecycle.
- Ability to critically review and summarize clinical research, scientific articles, and guideline recommendations
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong research and critical analysis skills to translate evidence into practical, programmatic recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Comfort working independently and remotely, with reliable online resources and a confidential work environment.
- Ability to bring a culturally sensitive, inclusive, and patient-centered approach to health behavior coaching.
- Comfort communicating complex health and wellness concepts in an empathetic, accessible, and non-directive manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while supporting members remotely in a sensitive, health-related context.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized expertise or practice related to topics in the fields of reproductive health and the life course.
- Experience working with weight loss programs or remote coaching programs.
- Experience working with pregnant individuals and those preparing for pregnancy or post-pregnancy.
- Experience designing or delivering programs for metabolic health improvement, such as interventions targeting weight management, insulin sensitivity, and cardiovascular fitness.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with members from clinical and non-clinical teams.
- Experience in virtual health education, member coaching, or clinical guidance through telehealth or chat-based platforms is a plus.
