Carta is in search of a Senior Product Designer who is passionate about leading complex, high impact projects, and influencing product strategy through design vision. This person will work alongside an exceptional design team creating and shipping innovative digital product experiences in our Fund Administration business. Our ideal candidate is savvy, curious, enjoys working cross-functionally, and can effectively communicate vision to leadership. They can advocate for the nerdiness of design craft in addition to the business case of a given design direction. This person must be a self-starter who can work through ambiguity to lead projects from start to finish. We are looking for someone who can inspire fellow designers and stakeholders, and lead with both user empathy and conviction.

As a Sr Product Designer, you will play a crucial role throughout the organization— influencing the future of Carta products. You’ll have the opportunity to design for a range of customer and user archetypes including: fund managers, investors, tax experts, and our Carta service and delivery colleagues.

Additionally you will:

  • Collaborate closely with Design and Product Leadership to define features and contribute to the overall direction of your product area
  • Deeply understand user needs and drive alignment around core platform concepts by creating models, concept diagrams, workflow diagrams, and journey maps
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Treasury to represent the design team, facilitate design discussions, and give feedback in planning and product discussions
  • Create and validate designs through sketches, prototypes, and testing
  • Determine the information architecture and flow for your product features
  • Create high-fidelity visuals and specifications for your final solutions
  • Work with partners to help summarize and communicate research findings to inform our decisions and build an even greater understanding of and empathy for our customers
  • Solicit feedback early and often from your peers, including other product designers and teammates in your product team. Participate in weekly design syncs with the design team
  • Help maintain our design system with other product designers and advocate for scalable design solutions

The Team You'll Work With

You’ll be joining our Fund Applications team. This team builds tools that integrate with our core Fund Administration platform, such as Fund Tax, portfolio management, and more. You’ll join a diverse team of Designers, Engineers, and Product Managers who are focused on delivering great experiences for our users across all of Carta’s products. As a designer on the Fund Applications team you will be focused on building new customer experiences that will enhance the core Carta Fund Administration product and highlight the magic of Carta’s connected platform. You will be supported by Product Designers and Design Technologists across the organization and will be able to leverage the full range of resources that our Design organization has to offer.

About You

We are looking for a strong designer to envision the future of Fund Applications at Carta — someone who can help drive design strategy, ideation, prioritization, problem solving, and design delivery. If you are passionate about building intuitive solutions that simplify complexity, we would love to talk with you.

What you’ll need: 

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in an individual contributor role, on a Product Design team
  • Background in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field/equivalent experience
  • An outstanding portfolio showcasing shipped high quality products and/or features, demonstrating a depth of knowledge in user experience, UX research, interaction, and visual/user interface design
  • An end-to-end understanding of the product design process, from ideation to execution 
  • Demonstrate autonomy and active ownership of projects and problem spaces 
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, using high-quality strategic artifacts such as personas, journey maps, prioritization frameworks etc
  • The willingness to get curious about our domain and strive to become experts in our users’ business practices
  • Demonstrable experience working with complex SaaS platforms

Salary

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:

  • $150,000 - $175,000 in [Seattle, WA]
  • $157,000 - $185,000 in [San Francisco, CA; Santa Clara, CA; New York, NY] 

Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
