The role...

The Director of Web, Digital Marketing & Platforms reports to the Sr. VP of Global Marketing and is responsible for the development and execution of CST’s overall web vision & strategy. This key leadership role will oversee a team of Digital Marketing professionals and Platform Owners, focusing on developing, managing, and optimizing CST’s digital presence. The Director will drive awareness, engagement, e-commerce, and business growth in support of the Company's strategic objectives by orchestrating web workstreams across Marketing, Commercial Operations, and IT. This includes overseeing taxonomy, content strategy, PPC & SEO optimization, and relevant metrics, as well as spearheading the commercial deployment and integration of Digital Asset Management (Bynder), Product Information Management (STEP), and Marketing Automation (HubSpot) platforms. The role will be instrumental in creating a cohesive digital ecosystem that leverages these platforms to enhance the company's online presence, streamline operations, and drive business growth.

Strategy Development and Execution

  • Roadmap Creation: Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-year roadmap for web and digital marketing (email, SEM/SEO) that aligns with the overall business objectives of developing a best-in-class web and digital presence for reagent antibodies.
  • Integration Initiatives: Drive the integration of web and digital marketing automation initiatives across various platforms (e.g., websites, social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, CRM, analytics).

Web & Digital Marketing Data Strategy

  • Data Framework: Establish a robust data strategy and taxonomy framework for website content to enhance organization, accessibility, and searchability.
  • Data Governance: Build a governance model to ensure effective data integration and management across digital marketing platforms, promoting consistency and scalability.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of Product Owners and digital marketing professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Commercial Operations, Marketing, Product Development, IT) to ensure alignment and integration of digital platform efforts.
  • Project Management: Provide project management support to ensure the execution of the web roadmap and workstreams.

Website Management

  • Website Oversight: Direct the design, development, and maintenance of company websites to ensure they are state-of-the-art, user-friendly, and optimized for UX, e-commerce, search engines, and AI.
  • Technical Proficiency: Leverage a strong understanding of web and martech stack technologies (CMS, e-commerce platforms, etc.) to maximize digital marketing effectiveness.

Automated Digital Marketing

  • Platform Optimization: Oversee the optimization and maintenance of the marketing automation platform, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
  • Database Growth: Expand the customer database and implement audience segmentation strategies to tailor campaigns, enhancing relevance and effectiveness.
  • Campaign Execution: Direct the development and implementation of automated digital marketing campaigns, utilizing analytics to measure effectiveness and drive improvements.

SEO/SEM Management

  • SEO Strategy: Lead the creation and execution of SEO strategies to enhance organic search rankings and increase website traffic.
  • SEM Oversight: Manage SEM campaigns, including PPC advertising, to ensure optimal return on investment.

Data Analytics and Reporting

  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track website performance and user engagement.
  • Insight Generation: Produce regular reports on digital marketing metrics, providing actionable insights to senior management.

Vendor and Budget Management

  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies to support web and SEO/SEM initiatives.
  • Budget Oversight: Oversee the digital platforms budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all digital marketing activities comply with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed on changes in digital marketing regulations and best practices within the Life Sciences sector.

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: 8-10 years of digital marketing experience in the Life Science industry, with a focus on web, digital marketing & platforms.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build and lead cross-functional teams collaboratively.
  • Strategic Success: Demonstrated success in developing and executing global web strategies, including building and updating e-commerce websites in the life science reagent sector.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical skills in data management, product taxonomy development, SEO, SEM, and digital marketing tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau) to inform business decisions.
  • Martech Proficiency: Comprehensive understanding of web/martech stack, including email automation, DAM & PIM platforms.
  • UX Knowledge: Strong grasp of UX design principles and human-computer interaction concepts.
  • Campaign Management: Experience managing e-commerce websites and executing automated digital marketing campaigns.
