The role...

The Senior Strategic Marketing Manager, Scaling Biology, will focus on identifying and evaluating innovative applications and new product opportunities for reagent antibodies in scaling experimentation across multiplexed immunohistochemistry (mIHC), spatial biology, single-cell analysis, conjugation technologies, automated platforms, high-content screening & imaging and molecular barcoding technologies. This role is essential for driving program development within these key areas to address evolving market demands. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of global life science market trends and customer needs, particularly in the context of emerging technologies to scale biology and have the ability to effectively prioritize opportunities for portfolio expansion and innovation, ensuring alignment with customer relevance and market opportunity. Collaboration with internal stakeholders, including R&D and Business Development, will be crucial to identify, scope and define internal and external technology development programs that support market growth. This role is also responsible for developing marketing strategies to effectively showcase the advantages of our comprehensive scaling biology portfolio across various customer segments. Additionally, the Senior Strategic Marketing Manager will serve as a thought leader providing ongoing insights and recommendations regarding scaling biology and technology trends to all internal stakeholders.

  • Growth Strategy Development: Lead the formulation of growth strategies that maximize corporate strategic imperatives, informed by comprehensive analysis of market trends, competition, customer needs, and technology evolution.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze and define target markets, including market size, growth potential, and attractiveness, specifically for reagent antibodies in scaling biology applications.
  • Market Research Implementation: Develop and execute a market research strategy (including VOC, primary research, surveys, and focus groups) to guide innovation and application of our products.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and emerging KOLs to gain insights into the scientific landscape and ideate potential new opportunities.
  • Thought Leadership: Serve as an internal expert on assigned focus areas, continuously enhancing domain expertise and understanding of market dynamics.
  • Technology Scouting: Collaborate with Corporate/Business Development and R&D to identify new and emerging technologies and partners that can enhance our product portfolio.
  • Strategic Evaluation: Assess strategic fit, secure cross-functional buy-in, and provide investment recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Product Roadmap Development: Partner with R&D to create product roadmaps that align with identified opportunities and define requirements for the new technology platforms & products.
  • New Product Commercialization: Work closely with Product Marketing to guide new product introductions from concept through commercialization.
  • Marketing Plans: Collaborate with Corporate Development and across the Commercial organization to design and implement effective marketing plans and activities to fully commercialize the scaling biology portfolio.

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • Education: PhD or Master’s degree in life sciences or a related field is essential; an MBA or equivalent business qualification is highly desirable.
  • Experience: 5-8 of experience in the life sciences industry, with demonstrated expertise in product management, technology development, or innovation leadership. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with multiplexed antibody-based techniques, spatial biology, single-cell analysis, conjugation technologies, automated platforms, high-content screening and imaging, and molecular barcoding technologies.
  • Product Development & Market Expertise: Proven ability to drive innovation, develop strategic product roadmaps, and prioritize initiatives based on evolving market trends, customer needs, and technological feasibility.
  • Commercialization & Market Insight: Extensive experience in launching and supporting life science products, with a strong understanding of commercialization workflows, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning. Deep market knowledge, including customer segmentation, with the capability to translate scientific breakthroughs into transformative product features.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Skilled in leading cross-functional teams across R&D, business development, marketing, and sales, ensuring alignment between scientific rigor and market needs. A history of successful collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to design and implement innovative strategies.
  • Skills & Adaptability: Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, coupled with the ability to evaluate new opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, and manage ambiguity effectively. Proactive, resourceful, and adept at thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environments while delivering measurable results.

Ideally, you have...

  • Education: PhD in life sciences or related field, and/or MBA or equivalent business qualification is highly desirable
  • Experience with marketing frameworks (i.e. Pragmatic) Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Physical Conditions/Physical Requirements...

  • Hybrid (50% remote, 50% hybrid) 
  • Up to 30% Travel (20% US, 10% international)
