Senior/Staff Electrical Engineer (Temporary: 6-12 months)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Electrical Engineer to contribute to all phases of electrical design and development for the next-generation of medical devices. In addition to providing outstanding problem-solving and proficiency in digital and analog electrical design, you will also be involved in hardware component selection, and testing prototypes. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced post-IPO growth environment focused on innovation and quality.
What you'll do:
- Electrical design: developing specifications, capturing schematics, specifying the layout and documentation of circuit board requirements while adhering to relevant industry standards..
- Testing prototypes: Create and perform test procedures to verify functionality, performance, and reliability. Coordinate and oversee external electrical manufacturing and testing.
- Hardware selection: risk analysis, and design reviews.
- Generate reports and associated documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with other contractors and employees, provide technical expertise and support, including the evaluation of proposals.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience as an electrical engineer and electrical systems designer.
- Strong understanding of fundamental EE concepts (circuit theory, digital/analog electronics, signal processing, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with soldering, prototyping, or hardware debugging.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout software.
- Knowledge of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using Altium
Would Be Great If You Have:
- Experience using Eagle, Allegro, or KiCAD.
- Understanding of electrical engineering safety standards and particular familiarity with ISO 13485, IEC 60601, MOPP, and MOOP.
- Understanding of PCB Manufacturing process with vendors
- Experience with embedded systems or programming (C/C++, Python, MATLAB).
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and project management tools.
Compensation Range
$68.25 - $91 USD
A candidate’s final salary offer will be based on their skills, education, work location and experience, and thus it may differ from the posted range. Compensation may also include bonuses consistent with Ceribell’s corporate compensation plan.
