174 Power Global has recently embarked to enter the energy retail market in deregulated markets throughout North America. Chariot Energy is a retail energy provider based in Houston, Texas. We offer electricity to homes and businesses, and it is our goal to provide products and services our customers love and an unmatched experience that is missing in today’s retail energy market.

174 Power Global has set out to have Chariot Energy become one of the leading energy retail providers (by RCE count) within 5-years of Chariot Energy’s launch.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

This person will play a key role in helping to build, roll-out and operate the indirect sales channel with a focus on building/maintaining relationships with Aggregators/Brokers/Consultants, as well as supporting internal directives with sister companies like QCells and their Solar Buy Back initiatives.  We are looking for an upbeat and positive-natured problem-solver who is diligent, analytical and has at least two (2) years’ experience in an indirect sales role with a Retail Electric Provider.  The person in this role will report to the Director of Sales.  We want someone who is accountable to themselves with a strong background in Microsoft Excel (Access/SQL experience a big plus but not required).  We need someone who makes data-based decisions, is competitive and sees obstacles as opportunities. The employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management.  All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies  

This role is located in Houston Texas, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Houston office location. This is an onsite required role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, Develop and Maintain Aggregator/Brokers/Consultant (ABC) relationships with the goal of presenting Chariot Energy as the best option for their commercial and residential customers.
  • Support for direct commercial sales (inbound) and work directly with customers to help manage their accounts (including signing contracts/renewals, Transfers of Service, etc.)
  • Develop sales strategies, objectives, and plans to meet revenue targets and increase market share within specified region.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to optimize sales performance.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences within the market. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sales opportunities, target customer segments, and develop differentiated value propositions.
  • Assist as a point of contact with external partners for corporate initiatives to help drive goals and help them meet their KPIs (e.g. working directly with QCells with their residential Solar Buyback initiatives)
  • Prepare and present Chariot Energy bids to ABC’s and potentially direct sales customers, including but not limited to building pricing, presentations, running credit and creating/booking contracts.
  • Act as an ‘External Subject Matter Expert’: Working knowledge of the ‘ins and outs’ of deregulated energy agreements, and the ability to reliably field queries from third parties on Chariot’s products, services and agreements as an expert representative of Chariot.
  • Ability to ‘wear multiple hats’, and ‘think outside-of-the-box’ in a highly competitive and commodity-driven industry and not settle for the ‘status quo.’
  • Be highly organized, detail oriented and results driven with the ability to hit deadlines under pressure, while managing multiple projects. 
  • Work cross-departmentally with Marketing, Supply, Operations, Legal and Accounting on a daily basis. 

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of Indirect Sales experience required 
  • A BA or BS degree (degree requirement may be waived with significant and extensive relevant work experience in this type of role)
  • Worked on a Retail Electric Provider’s Indirect Sales Desk.
  • Direct experience working as a point of contact for ABCs.
  • Utilizing various pricing engine tools, bidding and contracting templates (experience writing contracts a plus, but not required)
  • Juggle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly, based on anticipated business results. 
  • Ability to present and speak articulately to colleagues and leadership in a succinct manner.
  • Advanced/Expert level Microsoft Excel (VBA/Access/SQL a plus, but not required)
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking a plus!
  • Eligible to work for any US employer without the need for any current or future sponsorship

 

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000
