Join the Corporate Engineering team as the Senior Manager, AI Solutions & Integrations Engineering, where you'll lead a team dedicated to enhancing employee productivity across all departments at Checkr. In this role, you will manage a team of generative-AI-focused solutions engineers and integration specialists that aim to help solve complex internal business challenges. You will play a pivotal role in shaping technological strategies that directly impact our mission to build the safe and fair data platform of the future. This role will report to the Senior Director of Information Security.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and mentor a team of AI Solutions Engineers and Integration Engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Engage with executive stakeholders to align AI and integration initiatives with organizational goals, ensuring strategic alignment and impactful outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements, understand workflows, and propose AI-driven improvements.
- Design, develop, and deploy bespoke AI solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of internal teams, improving processes and decision-making capabilities.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI technologies into existing systems and workflows.
- Gather feedback on AI solutions, refining them based on user needs and business objectives.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to help internal teams understand and adopt AI solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on AI advancements and share relevant findings with the team to help inform solution design.
- Present findings, progress updates, and future proposals to internal stakeholders, from team members to executive leadership.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience. A graduate degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience in engineering roles focused on productivity, GenAI, or data-centric solutions.
- 3+ years of proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a focus on AI/ML projects.
- Practical experience setting up version control systems, developer processes, and working with compliance and governance teams.
- Strong ability to engage and align with executive stakeholders, driving strategic initiatives.
- Experience building scalable data pipelines using modern tools such as Snowflake.
- Familiar with AI frameworks and technologies, including TensorFlow and PyTorch, with experience containerizing solutions using Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments like AWS and Azure.
- Exceptional ability to tackle open-ended problems in unstructured environments, synthesizing complex data into actionable insights.
- Proven track record of working effectively within cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A deep interest in leveraging AI to transform internal processes and enhance employee productivity.
- A preferred understanding of tools like Workato, Tray.ai, Zapier, Mulesoft, SnapLogic or similar.

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. The base salary range for this role is $193,000 to $227,000 if based in San Francisco, CA and $163,000 to $192,000 if based in Denver, CO.
