What You Will Do

As the Reliability Engineer, you will support continued management of maintenance of our fixed assets. Your focus will be on equipment reliability, uptime, and tracking of OEE to ensure we are utilizing our assets in the most effective way. You will support asset health by driving predictive and preventative maintenance, pinpoint systemic issues and reduce downtime. You will collaborate with both internal and external partners to drive to zero loss 

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Reliability Insights:  

  • Benchmark equipment reliability and maintenance performance across multiple sites to identify gaps, systemic losses, and improvement opportunities. 
  • Analyze breakdown data, maintenance history, and runtime trends to pinpoint failure patterns and drive corrective and preventative actions. 
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for thermoforming packaging machines, inspection equipment, and automation equipment leveraging TPM concepts, including AM and PM pillars. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to third-party facility staff on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of packaging equipment.
  • Develop and implement spare spart strategy informed by downtime drivers and site insights.
  • Support the development of maintenance budgets and track adherence to plan. 

Equipment Performance Monitoring and Optimization: 

  • Monitor the performance metrics of packaging equipment to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Implement measures to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity in packaging operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any operational challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices in packaging operations.
  • Support equipment FATs, SATs, and startup.
  • Coordinate equipment testing for new product development and component changes to ensure uninterrupted production. 

RCA & Consumer Complaints  

  • Lead structured root cause analysis on potential equipment-, process-, or packaging-related failures.
  • Support cross-functional RCA investigations by analyzing equipment performance, maintenance records, and production data to identify contributing factors and implement corrective actions. 

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience 3+ years in establishing and implementing maintenance programs in CPG environment. Experience with comanufacturing relationships is preferred.
  • Experience with thermoforming packaging machines and secondary packaging automation.
  • Knowledgeable of TPM concepts, including PM and AM pillars.
  • Strong technical expertise in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of packaging machinery and automation systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with comanufacturing partners and equipment vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards applicable to packaging operations.

Reports to: Senior Manager, Engineering

Location: Remote

Type: Full-Time, exempt

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $90,000 + 15% annual bonus

Compensation Philosophy & Total Comp:

  • Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
  • Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
