What you'll do
We're looking for an Account Executive - Bill Pay to lead the outbound effort to modernize how Mexican companies handle corporate spending and accounts payable. You will identify and convert high-potential prospects that today rely on traditional banks, manual approval flows, or disconnected ERP workflows.
This is a hunter position: you own the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting to contract signing, navigating the specific complexities of the Mexican financial ecosystem to deliver Clara's integrated AP solution. Your target is mid-market and enterprise companies — and your buyer is the CFO, Finance Director, Controller, or Treasurer.
-
Drive the outbound sales motion for Clara's accounts payable module and financial workflow solutions in Mexico.
-
Identify and engage companies using legacy financial processes — traditional banking, manual reconciliation, disconnected ERPs — and position Clara as the modern alternative.
-
Generate a high volume of qualified leads through proactive prospecting and strategic outreach via Amplemarket and other tools.
-
Lead high-impact conversations with CFOs, Finance Directors, and Controllers, demonstrating deep understanding of AP workflows, payment approval flows, ERP integrations, and cash management.
-
Manage a robust pipeline of mid-market and enterprise clients in HubSpot, with meticulous forecasting and deal hygiene.
-
Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder buying cycles involving Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations.
-
Coordinate internally via Slack and Google Drive with Risk, Product, and Operations to structure tailored proposals and ensure smooth handoffs to the implementation team.
-
Consistently exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and deal-volume KPIs.
-
Act as a brand ambassador for Clara in the Mexican market, clearly communicating our differentiation from traditional banking and legacy expense management tools.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Must haves
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in outbound B2B sales within fintech, expense management, ERP, or corporate banking.
-
Deep expertise in accounts payable workflows: payment processing, approval flows, ERP integrations, reconciliation, and cash management — you've sold, implemented, or negotiated solutions in this space.
-
Strong practical knowledge of the Mexican financial market: corporate credit, SAT compliance, CFDI, SPEI, and the pain points of finance teams at mid-market and enterprise companies.
-
Proven hunter profile: high-activity outbound cycles, complex negotiations, and a track record of opening and closing net-new accounts.
-
Proven experience selling to financial personas (CFOs, Treasurers, Controllers) — you understand how they think, what they prioritize, and how they buy.
-
Experience or interest in AI tools to automate workflows and increase outreach efficiency.
-
Working proficiency in English and professional-level fluency in Spanish.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication.
-
Adaptability to fast-changing environments and a proven track record of execution.
Nice to haves
-
Previous experience at high-growth companies in financial services, SaaS, or corporate benefits.
-
Established network of finance leaders and decision-makers in the Mexican market.
-
Familiarity with ERP platforms common in Mexico (SAP, Oracle, CONTPAQi, Aspel).
-
Independent analytical skills using spreadsheets, SQL, or Python to build business cases.
-
A good sense of humor.

Clara’s Hybrid Policy
Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.
We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
