Clear Street are seeking equity research associates to join our dynamic equity research team covering mid- and small-cap biotech companies. We are looking for associates to work with senior analysts in the healthcare sector. The candidate’s duties include conducting proprietary research on companies in the biotechnology sector, sector-specific research, including understanding preclinical and clinical data and drug approval process, writing equity research publications and maintaining financial models.
- Develop and utilize financial models to support analyses, client communications, and investment recommendations.
- Keep senior analysts informed of significant daily news and market developments.
- Perform targeted industry and company research by conducting surveys, polling healthcare professionals, engaging with Key Opinion Leaders, and gathering primary data for research purposes.
- Contribute to the creation of in-depth research reports, including investment strategies, data interpretation, industry or company news updates, and initial coverage assessments.
- As associates progress, they will build and sustain professional relationships with company executives, industry experts, internal sales and trading teams, and institutional investors.
- Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications & Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:
- At least one year of professional experience of fundamental equity research or investment banking experience.
- Advanced degree (PhD or MD) strongly preferred.
- FINRA SIE, Series 63, Series 86, and Series 87 licenses are highly preferred, if not already licensed, candidates will be required to pass the exams.
- Skilled in building and updating financial models and projections.
- Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Exhibits a strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and both critical and creative thinking abilities.
- Able to excel in a dynamic, high-pressure, and deadline-oriented setting.
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work on a team.
- Shows a clear passion for the biotechnology sector.
- Occasional travel may be required.
We offer:
The base salary range for this role is $100,000-150,000. The range is representative of the starting base salary for this role at Clear Street. Which range a candidate fits into and where a candidate falls in the range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. These ranges represent Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The ranges stated do not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.
