Communications Manager
What The Role Is
We are seeking a highly motivated Communications Manager to oversee and implement digital and media strategy in support of our large, diverse renewable energy pipeline. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who develops and executes multi-channel communications to drive deep local engagement, awareness, and support for our projects. This leadership role requires a deep expertise in digital media platforms, a track record of project management skills and attention to detail, as well as a passion for clean energy. This hybrid position is based in our San Francisco office.

What You'll Be Doing
Digital Strategy:
- Lead comprehensive digital media strategies tailored to each energy project.
- Identify target audiences and develop campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate local communities.
Content Creation and Management:
- Generate compelling content (including text, images, and videos) for various digital platforms such as websites, social media, email newsletters, and blogs. Ensure the website and other platforms are robust, visually appealing, and frequently updated.
- Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and alignment with project goals.
Social Media Management:
- Manage and maintain social media profiles across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) to increase visibility and engagement.
- Monitor social media trends and respond to inquiries or comments in a timely manner.
Email Marketing Campaigns:
- Develop and execute email campaigns to nurture leads, provide project updates, and promote community involvement.
- Turn performance metrics into strategies that yield results.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Track and analyze digital media performance using tools such as Google Analytics and social media insights.
- Prepare regular reports on key metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
Community Engagement:
- Collaborate with community outreach teams to integrate digital strategies into broader engagement efforts.
- Support initiatives that foster positive relationships with local stakeholders and enhance project visibility.
Traditional media communications:
- Develop and execute a strategy to engage national, local, and trade press through briefings, press releases, reporter cultivation, and executive preparation.
- Manage high-quality, high-visibility press events

Digital Media Channels Expertise:
- Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Websites (Content Management Systems like WordPress)
- Email Marketing Platforms (Mailchimp)
- Digital Advertising Platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads)
- Video Hosting and Streaming Platforms (YouTube, Vimeo)
Required Skills:
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record and experience in media and/or political campaigns.
- Creativity and strategic thinking to drive engagement and awareness.
- Strong proficiency in digital content creation and management.
- Demonstrated success running paid and organic digital media campaigns.
- Strong understanding of social media best practices and trends.
- Experience with website management and SEO principles.
- Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Project management and organizational abilities.
- Graphic design and video editing skills
What Would Be Nice
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector or related industries or digital/campaign communications.
- Familiarity with community engagement strategies and public relations.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
$128,000 - $156,000 USD
