Analyst, Solutions Architect

What The Role Is

Reporting to the Manager, Data Solutions Architecture, the Analyst will serve as a member of a team responsible for data-driven decision-making across our energy operations. You'll work at the intersection of renewable energy and analytics, developing insights from real-time asset performance data, complex trading analytics, and risk assessments.

The Analyst will work closely with other members of the team and a wide range of Clearway departments to maximize the value of assets, ensure data accuracy and consistency, and support analytics initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

Business Intelligence Development:

• Create and maintain executive dashboards and operational reports using Hex and Power BI to track key energy performance metrics and business KPIs
• Design compelling visualizations that effectively communicate energy data and trends to diverse audiences
• Develop interactive reports that enable stakeholders to explore data and derive insights independently

Deep Dive Analytics:

• Conduct complex analytical investigations using Python to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities across energy portfolios and operations
• Perform statistical analysis, including time series analysis, forecasting models, and statistical testing relevant to energy production and consumption patterns
• Support advanced analytics initiatives through proper data preparation and analysis

Financial Analysis:

• Collaborate with credit risk teams to analyze financial data supporting regulatory reporting and business operations

Stakeholder Reporting & Communication:

• Present analytical findings to internal partners, translating complex data insights into actionable business recommendations
• Partner with asset management and trading teams to understand operational requirements and deliver analytical solutions

Performance Monitoring:

• Track and analyze renewable energy asset performance and operational efficiency indicators
• Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for operational improvements

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• 0-2 years of analytics or related experience (internships, academic projects, and entry-level roles accepted)
• Strong SQL abilities for data extraction and analysis from databases
• Proficiency in Python with libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, and basic data visualization
• Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Hex, or similar) for creating charts and dashboards
• Understanding of basic statistical concepts and analytical methods
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to derive insights from data
• Ability to translate technical analysis into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders
• Comfortable with a hybrid work environment (2-3 days in office)

What Would Be Nice

• Interest in or knowledge of renewable energy technologies, grid operations, or energy markets
• Experience with energy, utilities, or financial services industries
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar)
• Knowledge of DBT (data build tool) for data modeling and analytical transformations
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques or machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, statsmodels)
• Experience with SCADA systems, energy trading platforms, or renewable energy monitoring tools
• Project management or coordination experience across multiple stakeholders
