Account Executive (Enterprise)

New York, NY

Coast is re-imagining the trillion-dollar U.S. B2B card payments infrastructure, with a focus on the country’s 500,000 commercial fleets, 40 million commercial vehicles, and many million commercial drivers. The incumbent technologies that cater to these customers are decades old, and drivers, fleets, and the merchants that serve them all increasingly demand modern digital experiences and affordable and transparent financial services products. Coast's mission is to deliver them at a transformational scale, and to improve working lives in one of the country’s biggest industry sectors. The company is backed by top fintech and mobility venture funds.

Historically, Coast has successfully served SMB and mid-market clients, but due to significant market demand, we've identified substantial opportunities in enterprise-level deals ranging from $250,000 to millions in ACV. We're hiring our first Enterprise Account Executive to directly capitalize on this growing pipeline. This is not an exploratory role; it’s a strategic expansion driven by the market's need for our product. You will pioneer and define how we approach enterprise sales, contributing to strategic pricing, product enhancement decisions, and developing new processes and systems to ensure scalability and success.

As Coast’s first Enterprise AE, you'll not only own critical sales cycles but also collaborate closely with Coast's executive leadership to shape the future of enterprise sales at our company.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex enterprise sales cycles from prospecting to close for Coast’s largest deals
  • Lead strategic pricing and negotiations, working collaboratively with Coast’s executive leadership team
  • Engage, educate, and build consensus among multiple senior-level stakeholders within enterprise client organizations
  • Develop and manage relationships with procurement teams, finance departments, and key decision-makers
  • Create and implement processes for enterprise sales strategy, forecasting, and pipeline management
  • Share market insights and customer feedback with Coast’s product, finance, and executive teams to improve offerings and customer experience
  • Consistently achieve and surpass aggressive sales quotas and revenue targets
  • Actively contribute to the strategic direction of Coast’s expanding enterprise sales organization
  • Establish foundational best practices and standards for future enterprise account executives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university
  • Minimum 8+ years of enterprise-level B2B sales experience, specifically managing deals of $250K+ ACV
  • Proven success navigating long, complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, procurement processes, and contract negotiations
  • Exceptional ability to communicate, influence, and build relationships with C-level executives and senior decision-makers
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic account plans and execute consistently against them
  • Familiarity with financial technology, fleet, trade, or related industries is highly desirable
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce, Outreach, and other sales enablement technologies
  • Proven history of consistently meeting and exceeding ambitious sales targets
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance transactional success with long-term process development and scalability
  • Excited by the opportunity and challenge of shaping a new function within an early-stage, venture-backed startup

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits, signing bonus, and equity. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Coast employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Coast to fall healthily within the range based on these factors.

  • Salary range: $135,000 - $150,000 annually
  • Uncapped performance bonus: targeted at 100% of base salary at goal
  • Signing bonus
  • Equity grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company, with meaningful potential upside given the company’s early stage

Benefits overview

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible paid time off (vacation, personal well-being, paid holidays)
  • Paid parental leave
  • Tools to help manage your financial wellness, including webinars, access to an equity tax advisory service, and company-sponsored 401K
  • $400 accessories allowance for home office setup to be spent on a keyboard, mouse, headphones, etc.
