What you will do:
Build impactful healthcare technology on a modern technology stack using full-stack engineering background. Duties include:
- Work on fast-paced, autonomous, software development agile teams to build and enhance a growing software platform.
- Contribute to feature design, development, testing and delivery of our cloud platform and web applications.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the technical design and execution process.
- Responsible for end-to-end feature releases and platform enhancements.
- Contribute to developing a culture of testing, quality, and attention to detail by supporting industry-leading practices such as writing and maintaining comprehensive test coverage.
- Actively participate in ensuring Cohere maintains a disciplined approach to healthcare security within their software development and design processes.
- Support interoperability initiative that extends the reach of Cohere’s products and services in the marketplace.
- Support the technical design process, bringing expertise and analysis to help make data- driven decisions.
- Mentor junior software engineers on the team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering/Computer Science or closely related IT field, plus 5 years’ professional experience in data engineering roles. Will also accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering/Computer Science or closely related IT field plus 3 years’ professional experience in data engineering roles.
Must also have the following experience (may be gained concurrently with above) in:
Three (3) years’ experience in:
- Building data services and APIs using Python.
- Leading data modeling and storage design using different databases utilizing AWS data services including S3, Glue, Redshift, and Kinesis.
- Building highly scalable ETL pipelines and applications using Python and Java.
- Building and maintaining services using MongoDB and Kafka.
Two (2) years’ experience working with healthcare industry data.
This position is remote and can be performed from any location within the United States.

The salary for this position is $178,131 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and internal alignment.
