Industrial Design Contrator
We are immediately seeking a highly-skilled Industrial Design Contractor for a 1-2 month project-based contract at Cobot. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Design to develop and refine innovative concepts for our robotics systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge designs, iterating rapidly from initial sketches to 3D models, while ensuring alignment with manufacturing and engineering requirements.

This role is located at our Santa Clara, CA headquarters, or remotely within the US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Design to design trade-off studies and detail studies through quick sketches, 3D CAD, visualization and prototyping.
- Ensure all designs consider high-level Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) intent.
- Provide clear documentation of trade-off studies for cross-functional teams.
- Deliver 3D CAD files to ME team when necessary.
- Create mid- to high-level quality renderings or presentations for internal discussions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Industrial Design.
- Expertise in 3D CAD design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD) and rendering software (e.g., KeyShot, V-Ray) for high-quality visual presentations.
- Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on design concepts, including an eye for detail and an understanding of practical design constraints.
- Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product development.
- Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and navigate ambiguity, while consistently delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision in an environment with evolving priorities.
- Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills, able to articulate design decisions clearly.
- Must be willing and able to start 1-2 month contract in March
