About the Position:
As an Assistant Controller with Cologix you will be responsible for preparing timely and accurately, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including the interpretation and application of GAAP, integration of acquired companies, accounting operations management, process development and documentation, and accounting system implementation projects. The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of financial reporting as well as the transactional functions within accounting.
What you do daily:
The Assistant Controller will assist with the financial reporting cycle including, but not limited, to the following:
- Working with a team in ensuring a timely and accurate monthly close process and monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies through monthly preparation and review of income statement fluctuations, balance sheet reconciliations and consolidations, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency accounting
- Maintain chart of accounts and accounting calendar
- Prepare monthly close for various corporate entities
- Prepare monthly/annual financial statements and supporting schedules for investors
- Lead the research, documentation and accounting for complex transactions including revenue recognition, leasing, debt and equity financing, purchase accounting for future acquisitions, etc
- Lead the annual financial audit, including the preparation of all requested information, liaison with audit team
- Manage the team in timely, accurate, efficient and controlled accounting operational processes including global payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, sales / use / value added tax filings
- Coach, train, mentor and supervise staff
- Supports, maintains, designs, develops, and trouble-shoots systems and processes to improve the efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting and accounting operations
- Participate in ERP strategic direction discussions and prioritize system enhancements
- Document, monitor and implement improvements to internal controls
What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
Essential:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university
- Certified Public Accountant, with active CPA license
- National accounting firm assurance experience
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with demonstrated ability of applying US GAAP to a variety of complex transactions
- At least seven years accounting experience with at least 3 years in a people leadership role
- Effective people leadership skills and experience
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to interact effectively with various departments and functions including sales, construction, operations, marketing, IT, and executive teams
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with a focus on Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; must be able to recognize problems, think critically, and be proactive in finding solutions
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, multitask, set own priorities, and adapt to a changing environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Highly organized, strong drive to learn and passionate about personal success and success of the company
Desirable:
- Telecom, data center and/or real estate industry familiarity

Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. This position will also be eligible for an annual bonus.
Salary Range
$165,000 - $195,000 USD
