Job Summary:
At Compliance Management International (CMI), we are committed to ensuring the highest safety standards on pharmaceutical construction projects. This site includes high-risk work: RT crane operations (operator and lift director onsite for panel installation), rigging, elevated work requiring fall protection, and potential scaffold access.
This is a contract position, up to 5 x 10-hour days (Monday–Friday), with potential for follow-on projects or long-term placement.
Key Responsibilities:

Mentor, educate, and train staff on safety protocols and industry best practices

Foster a positive safety culture by engaging workers, supervisors, and management

Attend and actively participate in safety meetings at varying frequencies as required

Conduct on-site safety observations and provide recommendations for improved work practices

Lead safety initiatives, including pre-task planning, audits, job safety analyses (JSAs), and permit processes

Facilitate site-specific orientations, training sessions, and toolbox talks to reinforce safety expectations

Generate and maintain safety reports as required by project management
Requirements & Experience:
-
Minimum 5+ years of direct construction safety oversight
-
Direct experience with:
• Active crane work (RT cranes) with lift director oversight
• Panel installation using rigging and mobile equipment
• Fall protection and elevated work plans
• Scaffold access control and inspections -
Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1926

Experience issuing stop-work authority on high-risk tasks

Ability to coordinate with crane operators, riggers, and subcontractors on lift planning

Strong communication skills to brief crews during critical work phases
Education & Certifications:
-
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (within the last 5 years)

BCSP credentials (STS-C, CHST, or CSP) preferred

Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
-
OSHA 510 or 500 certification preferred
-
First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions: This role requires active oversight of safety on large-scale commercial projects in diverse environments. The position may involve standing, walking, climbing ladders, stooping, entering confined spaces, working on roofs, lifting up to 30 lbs., and navigating rough or uneven terrain for the duration of the shift, excluding reasonable and allowable break times. Work conditions may include extreme temperatures, high winds, heavy rain, or snow.
