At Compliance Management International (CMI), we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety on pharmaceutical construction projects. Our Construction Safety Professionals are instrumental in driving safety excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and cultivating a proactive safety culture across job sites. This role demands strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to engage effectively with all members of the construction team.
Full-time W2 | 1099 Contractors Will Be Considered
1st Shift with Potential for Overtime
No Travel, Per Diem, or Relocation Assistance Provided
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mentorship and training on safety protocols and industry standards.
- Promote a culture of safety by collaborating with workers, supervisors, and leadership.
- Participate in safety meetings at frequencies determined by site needs.
- Conduct regular site safety audits and recommend improvements to enhance worksite safety.
- Lead safety efforts including pre-task planning, audits, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and permit coordination.
- Deliver site-specific safety orientations, training sessions, and toolbox talks.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation in alignment with project and regulatory requirements.
Requirements & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing safety on construction projects.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences construction is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Safety Standards and applicable regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and organizational levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for training and report preparation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or safety management software.
Education & Certifications:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (completed within the past 5 years).
- BCSP credentials such as STS-C, CHST, or CSP are highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 certification is preferred.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods on uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to climb ladders, crouch, crawl, and bend as needed to perform job tasks.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs during inspections or while handling safety equipment.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime and adjust hours based on project needs.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance (relocation, travel, and per diem are not provided).
