Site Health & Safety Officer (Mining – MSHA Certified)
Location: Bagdad, Arizona
Duration: 3–6 Months (Immediate Start)
Employment Type: 1099 Contractor or W2 Employee Considered

CMI is seeking an experienced Site Safety Officer (SHO) to support a mining project in Bagdad, Arizona. This is a high-priority, immediate-need position for a 3–6 month assignment at an active mine site.
Responsibilities:

Ensure full compliance with MSHA and site-specific safety standards

Conduct safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
-
Lead site-specific safety orientations and toolbox talks
-
Collaborate with site leadership to proactively mitigate risks
-
Maintain documentation of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
-
Support daily operations while promoting a strong safety culture
Qualifications:
-
Current MSHA certifications | required
- OSHA 30 Construction certification
-
Demonstrated experience in mining or heavy industrial construction environments
-
Strong working knowledge of federal and state mining safety regulations
-
Excellent communication and leadership skills
-
Ability to respond to incidents and coordinate investigations
Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, stand, and work in rugged outdoor environments

Must be able to wear all required PPE, including respirators and fall protection

Must be able to climb ladders and navigate uneven terrain
