Senior EHS Consultant – Tijuana, Mexico (Contract)
Job Type: Contract (6–12 months)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Consultant to support an industrial manufacturing site located in Tijuana, Mexico. This is a contract role for an initial term of 6 months, with the potential for extension up to 12 months based on project needs and implementation progress.
The EHS resource will work on-site to support the site’s internal HSE engineer in enhancing and executing compliance programs, with a strong emphasis on Mexican NOM standards. The role requires a bilingual professional with senior-level experience in general industry and proven capabilities in improving safety management systems and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the site’s HSE engineer to evaluate and improve existing health and safety compliance programs.
- Review, interpret, and implement relevant Mexican NOM standards applicable to general industry.
- Conduct gap assessments, internal audits, and compliance reviews.
- Assist in the development and revision of procedures, programs, and training materials.
- Support the implementation of corrective actions related to compliance findings.
- Provide subject matter expertise on best practices in EHS performance and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in safety inspections, and risk assessments.
- Support data collection and documentation to ensure regulatory readiness.
Qualifications and Credentials
- 8+ years of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing, general industry, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience implementing programs to comply with Mexican NOM-STPS standards (e.g., NOM-019, NOM-030, NOM-005).
- Fluent in Spanish with professional-level proficiency in English.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety risk identification, hazard mitigation, and audit practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and safety teams.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Must be able to work on-site at an industrial manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico.
- Ability to walk the production floor, conduct physical inspections, and wear required PPE.
- May involve occasional lifting (<25 lbs), climbing stairs/ladders, or standing for extended periods.
- Work hours are primarily weekdays, with flexibility for project needs.
