Job Title: Director of Growth – This role requires extensive experience with Federal Agency Government Contracts
Location: Remote U.S.
Join a Proven Leader in Defense and IT Innovation
CompTech Computer Technologies, a minority-owned business based in Dayton, Ohio, has spent over 20 years building a reputation as one of the region’s fastest-growing companies. Our edge comes from technical excellence, dependable delivery, and a relentless customer-first approach.
We’re looking for a Director of Growth to take our federal business to the next level. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a forward-thinking leader with deep knowledge of the federal procurement process and its regulatory landscapes, someone who thrives in capture management and business development, who brings an intimate understanding of the Government appropriation processes, and creates essential strategies for building sustainable programs in a dynamic funding environment. This position requires the ability to think creatively, navigate intricate requirements, and deliver exceptional results. You’ll bring the business savvy, technical fluency, and trusted relationships with U.S. defense agencies, military branches, and industry partners.
Reporting directly to the CEO & President, you won’t just influence strategy—you’ll help define CompTech’s future and drive mission-aligned growth across the federal landscape.
Scope of Work
The primary focus of this role will be capturing new business and scaling our presence across federal agencies that align with our core capabilities and contract vehicles. Success in this role will be measured by growth in pipeline, win rate, and market share. The Director will:
📈 Capture new business and expand CompTech’s federal presence by leveraging market intelligence to identify and pursue high-value DoD opportunities, aligning efforts with corporate growth objectives and contract vehicles.
🎯 Drive measurable results by building a robust pipeline, increasing win rates, and boosting market share through innovative capture strategies that influence customer requirements, translating implicit needs into solution features, and creating compelling value propositions.
🔍 Identify and qualify high-value opportunities using in-depth analysis of defense acquisition trends and customer priorities, ensuring CompTech is positioned ahead of competitors in a shifting contracting environment.
🛠️ Lead capture strategies end-to-end—from shaping customer requirements through proposal, pricing, and execution—while collaborating with Operations and Program Management teams across the full contract lifecycle, including recompetes, performance tracking, and compliance.
🤝 Forge strategic partnerships with defense agencies, military branches, and industry leaders to strengthen competitive positioning, expand CompTech’s network, and unlock opportunities for sustained growth.
🚀 Scale CompTech’s federal footprint by staying ahead of acquisition policy changes and market dynamics, fostering collaboration across internal teams, and driving consistent, mission-aligned growth in support of U.S. defense priorities.

- Familiarity with the various types of federal contracts, including Firm Fixed-Price (FFP), Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), and Time & Materials (T&M) contracts.
- The ability to develop, review, and evaluate bids and proposals in response to government solicitations, such as Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations for Bids (IFBs).
- Experience using federal government systems, most notably where contract opportunities are posted.
- US citizenship is required for this role.
- Active or eligible for DoD Secret security clearance.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
