ABOUT THE ROLE
As our National Interconnection Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of connecting distributed energy resources (DER) to the grid across the country. You’ll own the interconnection process, building strong partnerships with utilities, optimizing workflows, and navigating regulatory requirements to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.

**This is a fully remote position with a 20% travel expectation to our Philadelphia, PA office for meetings, training, and other events**
Core Functions/Duties
Interconnection Management
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end interconnection process for projects across various utility territories.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with utility interconnection teams, ensuring timely responses and issue resolution.
- Track application submissions and Permission to Operate (PTO) approvals to prevent customer delays.
- Manage escalations, document changes, and share updates with internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Distributed Generation (DG) groups to develop and implement best practices for interconnection applications.
- Present customer benefits to stakeholders once utility testing has begun.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and business development teams to align interconnection efforts with project goals.
Process Optimization
- Develop scalable processes to streamline interconnection workflows across multiple markets.
- Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of interconnection activities.
- Monitor and report on interconnection progress, costs, and timelines to leadership.
Customer and Utility Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with utility representatives and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth interconnection approvals.
- Act as a subject matter expert on interconnection, providing technical support to customers and partners.
Knowledge Sharing
- Train internal teams on interconnection workflows, regulatory updates, and best practices.
- Prepare and deliver detailed documentation and insights to inform future projects and business strategies.
Compensation range for this role begins at $105,000 + bonus + equity

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related Technical Discipline, Required
- NABCEP Certification, Preferred
Required Experience
- 5+ years managing interconnection processes for DER projects (e.g., solar, energy storage, micro grids).
- Proven ability to balance technical requirements with exceptional customer service.
- Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with grid integration, electrical systems, and interconnection standards (e.g., IEEE 1547, UL 1741, Rule 21).
- Understanding of FERC and state-specific interconnection policies.
Preferred Experience
- NABCEP Certification
- Solar Engineering Design Background
- Cross Functional experience ability to communicate with multiple departments

US Salary Range
$105,000 - $115,000 USD
