We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Servicing & Collections to lead client relationship management, drive successful collections efforts, and build a high performing servicing operations function. You will lead a great team that shares the passion for managing high profile accounts at or ahead of target goals while delivering an outstanding client experience. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the strategy for post funding client engagement, ensuring optimal portfolio health, and delivering an unparalleled client experience that fosters long term success for our construction clients.

This role requires a deep understanding of financial servicing, proactive portfolio management, and the ability to inspire a team to consistently exceed targets while navigating complex client scenarios. You will report directly to the Chief Credit Officer.

📝 What You'll Do:
  • Develop and implement the overarching strategy for client servicing, collections, and portfolio health, aligning it with company wide goals and client retention objectives.
  • Lead a team of high performing Servicing professionals, fostering a culture of empathy, accountability, continuous improvement, and client advocacy. Establish clear performance metrics and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Oversee the proactive management of our financial portfolio, focusing on improving collection rates, minimizing delinquencies, and optimizing cash flow. Implement sophisticated account management strategies, including skip tracing, payment plan negotiations, contract modifications, and hardship request evaluations.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance servicing workflows, technologies, and best practices to drive efficiency, scalability, and an exceptional client experience. Identify and implement solutions for automating routine tasks and improving decision making.
  • Ensure the effective management of high profile client accounts, anticipating needs, resolving complex issues, and serving as an escalation point to maintain strong relationships and ensure timely repayments.
  • Work closely with risk and underwriting teams to ensure all servicing activities adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Partner effectively with Sales, Underwriting, and Product teams to provide client feedback and inform product development.
  • Establish robust reporting mechanisms to monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, forecast potential issues, and provide actionable insights to the rest of the team.
📈 What You Bring:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial services operations or client servicing, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role overseeing a team focused on collections, accounts receivable, or portfolio management within a B2B lending or fintech environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex financial portfolios, particularly with experience in invoice factoring, supply chain finance, or other working capital solutions.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategies that significantly improve collection rates and maintain low delinquency levels.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Advanced negotiation and de-escalation skills, with the ability to navigate difficult conversations and achieve positive outcomes while preserving client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, credit risk, and ideally, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical abilities with proficiency in using data to drive decisions, identify trends, and optimize performance. Advanced Excel skills are a must; experience with CRM systems and financial servicing software is highly preferred.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • A genuine passion for improving clients' financial health and a commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience.
