Position Summary
The Countertop Laser Template Technician is responsible for collecting accurate field measurements of countertop spaces using laser templating technology. This role supports the Surfaces / Natural Stone division by ensuring precise specifications for fabrication and installation. The position works closely with internal teams and customers to deliver a high level of service and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle and reports to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Perform measurements using laser templating equipment for countertop installations
Review project details, layouts, and specifications prior to templating
Communicate with customers, installers, and internal teams to confirm scope and address field conditions
Identify and document discrepancies, potential issues, or required adjustments
Ensure all measurements and related documentation are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
Follow company standards, safety guidelines, and best practices

Qualifications

Previous experience in construction, cabinetry, stone fabrication, or a related field preferred
Ability to read and interpret basic drawings or layouts
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and customer service skills
Ability to use technology and learn specialized measurement software and equipment

Work Environment

Work performed in production or job site environments within the Surfaces / Natural Stone division
May involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including closed-toe shoes, safety goggles, and hearing protection (earplugs)
