Senior Video Editor and Animator

About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a talented video expert to help support the Brand Studio team within the Marketing Org at Contentful. Brand Studio is Contentful’s in-house team of designers, content marketers, and PMs. The ideal candidate will excel at production and post production activities, with a deep expertise in video editing and animation.

What to expect? 

  • Collaborate with the Brand studio team to understand, scope, script, storyboard, budget, allocate resources, project manage and produce video that meets the needs of our audience (and internal stakeholders) 
  • Work closely with Creative Director, Content Director and PMM Leads to develop video products that helps us educate, inspire and activate our key personas; as well as builds a credible Contentful brand 
  • Create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content for customer stories, internal company announcement videos, external promotional social videos, product marketing videos, recruiting videos, corporate training and other enterprise-wide projects 
  • Work with PM to manage day-to-day aspects of video production projects, including: schedules, project scope, change requests, internal and client reviews, etc 
  • Support planning video shoots; scout, select and reserve shoot locations 
  • Sets up, and operates various production equipment including cameras, audio, and video recorders 
  • Work with other stakeholders in Denver to reserve and rent equipment for on-site shoots
  • Shoot a variety of content including interviews, b-roll, live demos, events, etc.
  • Record and edit video and sound projects, including:
    • Select program format for final output
    • Capture / import media
    • Organize / maintain raw media files
    • Edit footage and sound files
    • Create and insert static and motion graphics, titling, addingmusic/voice-over/sfx
    • Manage media 
    • Archive project media 
  • Work with Marketing Teams to publish and internally socialize final pieces to all appropriate channels, per content dissemination plan, to ensure cross-functional partners can leverage the video you produce, where appropriate 
  • Collaborate with Marketing Teams to measure and report on video’s impact on revenue and help us analyze the data to inform future content plans
  • Help us work smarter, not harder, by brainstorming how we can best repurpose each asset to fully maximize the potential of each effort 
  • May be responsible for photography projects on an as needed basis

What you need to be successful

  • 5+ years in-house video production experience
  • A portfolio of well executed, impactful video projects that you have worked on from start to finish; both live action and motion graphics
  • Experience working with designers to animate top-notch graphics from Illustrator into After Effects
  • A familiarity background in graphic design, typography, illustration, storytelling, motion, video and similar disciplines
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities alongside team members to hit competing deadlines
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback to move the team and their work forward
  • Experience working with tech company content is preferred
  • You are

    • Naturally curious about problems and enjoy implementing innovative and creative ways to solve them
    • Motivated to create new ideas and concepts from provided team strategies
    • A stellar communicator and presenter, always focused on keeping collaboration positive and productive
    • Have a working knowledge of latest video best practices and technologies, experience of designing for conversion, and working through technical validation of creative concepts/design through to complete design system thinking
    • Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana

This role will need to be conducted in a state in which we are currently registered to do business.

The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.

Colorado Salary Range: $124,000 - $144,000
[This position is eligible for equity awards in accordance with the terms of Contentful’s equity plans.]
