About the role:

The Career Success Coach (CSC) will play a key role in ensuring the success of learners in Correlation One’s world-class data training and jobs programs. The CSC will work alongside a team of Teaching Assistants and Correlation One program operations staff to provide professional development coaching support to a cohort of ~60 learners. Your contract begins one week prior to the program start date and concludes on the program end date.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Passionate about mission-driven project work and prioritizing exceptional stakeholder outcomes
  • An empathetic, strong communicator, able to advise learners about how to achieve their career goals
  • A collaborative team player who is eager to develop new career advising strategies and program engagement initiatives to support learner success
  • Organized and a strong project manager who can keep big-picture goals top of mind

Role responsibilities:

The CSC role is organized around 4 core focus areas. Each carries a weekly time ceiling — the maximum you should expect to invoice in a given week for that area. The activities listed under each focus area are illustrative of how that time is typically spent; how you allocate hours within a focus area can flex based on cohort needs, learner priorities, and where you are in the program cycle.

1:1 Coaching Meetings | Ceiling: 6 hrs/week

Provide individualized coaching support through direct learner interactions. The ceiling for this focus area is 6 hours per week, regardless of how that time is structured

  • Scheduled 1:1 coaching sessions (30 min or less per meeting, up to 12/week)
  • Ad hoc availability during posted office hours

Program Ops Team Coordination | Ceiling: 1 hr/week

Stay aligned with the broader program team. The ceiling for this area is 1 hour per week, averaged across the contract. Bi-weekly meetings may concentrate that time unevenly — account for this when planning.

Weekly asynchronous update (written summary of wins, learner flags, and announcements)Bi-weekly 45-minute team sync

Learner Engagement, Interaction Tracking & Job Search Progress | Ceiling: 2 hrs/week

Maintain responsive communication with learners and keep job search tracking current. The ceiling is 2 hours per week; the split below is a starting point, not a formula — adjust based on cohort activity level.

Responding to Pumble and email within 24 hours (~1 hr/wk)Logging notes from coaching meetings (~5 min/meeting)Updating job search status for all learners in cohort (~1 hr/month, not weekly)

Structured Learner Support Deliverables | Ceiling: 8 hrs during active delivery periods

Deliver high-impact, scheduled support through feedback cycles and professional development workshops. Unlike the other focus areas, this one operates in bursts - expect up to 8 hours during an active feedback wave or workshop week, and little to no time here in between. Do not carry unused hours from this area into other weeks.

Resume & LinkedIn feedback - 3 waves throughout the program, up to 8 hrs per wave (~10 min/learner/exercise)

Exercise 2: Resume draftExercise 3: LinkedIn profileExercise 4: Final resume

Deliver Professional Development Lectures | Ceiling: up to 3 hrs for each of the 4 sessions

Prepare for and deliver engaging up to 4 professional development sessions during the program. In place of traditional lecture, there are PD sessions that focus on the following:

  • Debunking Imposter Syndrome & Understanding Sectors, Industries, & Roles
  • Preparing Your Resume/CV for Technical Roles
  • LinkedIn, Networking, & Job Search Strategies
  • Interviewing Strategies & Salary Negotiation

Who you are:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience, ideally in career development or coaching, professional counseling, or related program management focused on job seekers
  • Outstanding, executive-ready written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Experience developing trusting relationships and effective guidance to adult learners and/or job seekers
  • Experience delivering career coaching in an entirely remote format
  • An affinity for communicating with others in an empathetic and considerate manner
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Proactive problem-solver, high attention to detail, and a quick learner
  • High level of technical proficiency and comfortable adapting to new tools and technologies with ease
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Pumble
