Role Overview
As an Aviation Line Technician, you will be responsible for supporting all ground operations for inbound and outbound aircraft, flight crews, and passengers.
- Participate in the Safety Management System.
- Support operational activities including aircraft departure, arrival, loading and unloading of passengers and baggage, and aircraft fueling operations.
- Assist with cleaning and the upkeep of aircraft on a regular basis.
- Assist Facilities Manager with daily operations of hangar maintenance, assigned projects, and upkeep of support equipment at the company’s aviation facility.
- Build and maintain strong vendor and industry business relationships.
- Serve as the Facilities Point of Contact when the Facilities Manager is not available.
- Handle aviation fuels, including fueling and towing aircraft, maintaining quality control of fuel and fuel farm.
- Record all procedures and actions related to operation of aircraft per FAA guidelines.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and/or the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years in a technician or mechanical-related role preferred
- Completion of NATA and AVFuel trainings, or ability to complete within first 30 days
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including knowledge of aircraft systems
- knowledge of OSHA and FAA laws and standards
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in primarily outdoor environments which are subject to the natural elements and moderate to high noise levels.
- This position does not include supervisory responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently move/traverse, ascend/descend stairs in/around maintenance hangar or aircraft.
- Constantly positions self to bend, stoop, reach, lift.
- Frequently lift/move/carry 25lbs.
- Occasionally lift/move/carry up to 75lbs with/without assistance.
- Ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Must have the ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Uses hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Ability to work around chemical cleaning solutions.
