Couchbase is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join the team at our Bangalore office.
This role involves bolstering our documentation across all products with a focus on utilising GenAI in the writing workflow. Applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to use common AI platforms to boost their productivity while remaining responsible for documentation quality. This role has a focus on a developer skillset who can use their expertise to direct tools to create better documentation and then verify the output. It requires heavy interaction with engineering teams and PMs to understand user needs, use cases and the product itself.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own technical documentation writing tasks
- Leverage AI to improve documentation efficiency and quality
- Guide the team on GEO and GenAI writing, tooling and integrations
- Work with other teams to integrate or manage access to docs assets
- Present to the team to level up their skillsets with GenAI
Specific skills:
- 8+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a database-focused role.
- 4+ years of experience in an engineering or cloud ops role with significant AI involvement (AI involvement for that last 18 months at least)
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing agentic applications
- Proficient with Git, docs-as-code and static sites
- Proficient with GitHub, AWS, Azure, VSCode
- Experience using GenAI to improve documentation
- Experience with API documentation
- Proficient in Python and at least 1 other modern language
