About the Role

We at Coursera are seeking a highly skilled and motivated People Technology AI Specialist. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience and will be a key member of the People Technology team, focused on leveraging artificial intelligence and automation to transform the employee experience. You will work at the intersection of HR, data science, and technology — designing, implementing, and optimizing AI-driven tools that enhance talent acquisition, employee engagement, workforce analytics, and HR service delivery.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in HR, IT, and data engineering to ensure our people systems and workflows are intelligent, scalable, and aligned with business goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • AI and Automation Solutions:
    Design, build, and deploy AI tools to streamline HR processes (e.g., recruiting, onboarding, performance, and learning systems) using tools and platforms from Google AI, AWS, or other providers.

  • People Data and Insights:
    Partner with the People Analytics team to develop machine learning models that deliver predictive insights into retention, engagement, and workforce trends.

  • System Integration:
    Collaborate with People Technology Systems Administrators to integrate AI technologies into existing platforms like Workday and Greenhouse.

  • Employee Experience Innovation:
    Identify opportunities to use generative AI and agents to enhance employee self-service, knowledge management, and communications.

  • Governance and Ethics:
    Establish responsible AI practices within People systems, ensuring data privacy, bias mitigation, and compliance with global regulations.

  • Vendor and Tool Management:
    Evaluate and implement AI-enabled HR technologies and assess new solutions.

  • Change Enablement:
    Partner with the HR team to drive adoption of AI-powered capabilities through training, documentation, and change management.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field (required).

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with a focus on predictive modelling and data-driven insights.

  • Proven experience in deploying AI solutions using platforms like Google AI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or similar.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar for AI tool customization and deployment.

  • Strong understanding of APIs, cloud services, and integration of AI tools with existing systems.

  • Proficiency in building and scaling AI pipelines for data engineering, model training, and monitoring.

  • Experience with frameworks and libraries for building AI agents, such as LangChain, AutoGen.

  • Familiarity with designing autonomous workflows using LLMs and external APIs.

  • Strong understanding of HR systems (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse, etc.).

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical or analytical solutions.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
