Job Overview:

The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for connecting the world to lifelong transformative learning. They also work to shape public conversations on the future of education and work. The team is segmented into four areas of focus: Consumer Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Brand & Creative, and Communications. The team is currently focused on expanding the reach of Coursera’s brand and bringing new learners to the site, connecting students to degree programs, attracting new enterprise customers — including businesses, governments, and campuses — and creating a marketing system that nurtures learners throughout their professional lives.

As an Enrollment Counselor, you will be part of the Enrollment Team, enabling us to achieve successful recruitment cycles and achieve cohort goals for university degrees that are hosted on the Coursera platform. This position is primarily responsible for communicating with English-speaking prospective degree students in local and international markets via phone, email, chat and other tools to move them through the enrollment process on to enrollment. As an Enrollment Counselor, you will be the main point of contact for assigned prospective students who demonstrate interest in any of our hosted online degree programs from India. We are looking for someone who can maintain a high level of professionalism, implement our call road map and outreach strategy, and be excited about helping students reach their professional and academic goals.

You will have a direct impact on the growth and success of degree programs hosted on the Coursera platform and will help shape the future of higher education. The right candidate will feel comfortable working in a lean, performance-driven environment while maintaining a strong sense of team and collaboration. This is a full-time, remote role. The position primarily requires working within the Indian Standard Time (IST) zone to engage with English-speaking prospective students. However, flexibility is essential, as there may be occasions when reaching out to learners in other regions necessitates adjusting working hours to align with their respective time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Engagement and Qualification: Identify and engage potential learners through various channels. Assess their needs and interests to determine suitability for Coursera's programs.
  • Counseling and Information Delivery: Provide comprehensive information about course curricula, faculty, career outcomes, pricing, and payment options to prospective students via phone calls, emails, and online chats.
  • Sales Conversion: Address concerns, highlight program benefits, and guide potential learners to enroll in Coursera's programs, aiming to meet or exceed enrollment targets.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of interactions with leads, track their progress through the sales funnel, and update details in the CRM system.
  • Target Achievement: Meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly enrollment targets related to revenue and student acquisition.
  • Relationship Building: Establish rapport with prospective students, build trust, and provide personalized guidance throughout the enrollment process.
  • Objection Handling: Effectively address common concerns and objections raised by prospective students to facilitate enrollment decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
  • Strong sales acumen with a proven ability to close deals.
  • Understanding of the EdTech industry and online learning landscape.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and data management.
  • Ability to actively listen and empathize with potential learners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in educational sales, admissions counseling, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Coursera's course offerings and platform features.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a target-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
