Senior Business Manager

Position Summary

As a key member of the Sales team, the Senior Business Manager facilitates the end-to-end project execution management of the merchandising display supply chain. The Senior Business Manager coordinates all contract deliverables by fully integrating themselves into the Customers’ processes and engaging Customer cross-functional teams. The Senior Business Manager strategically focuses on growing Customers’ trust through seeking to understand the Customers’ need to strengthen their competitive advantage in the marketplace. The Senior Business Manager will be tasked with strategic thinking to ensure we continue our partnership with the Customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Sales Team Member

  1. Maintain a strong working understanding of the Customers’ category vision and provide demonstrated expertise and recommendations in Retailer strategies.
  2. Manage the communication process as the face to the Customer across the project design development spectrum.
  3. Collaborate, understand and leverage brand and consumer behavior to convert revenue opportunities.
  4. Collaborate and determine opportunities for brand evolution and expansion.

 Safety

  1. Promote and drive the relevance of the Crescent Safety culture with the Customer.
  2. Scrutinize the alignment of new programs and opportunities with being able to Do it Safe.
  3. Evaluate Crescent’s contractual obligations against potential risk.

Quality 

  1. Build trust with the Customer, establishing strong and open relationships, where our Customer is a stakeholder in our long-term success.
  2. Participate in defining and establishing Customers’ reporting needs.
  3. Generate, maintain and distribute accurate, timely, Customers’ and Key Partners’ reports including a Project Tracker.
  4. Receive and analyze Customers’ project requests and ensuring all specifications are attainable including assembly/fulfillment requirements and costing are captured and tracked accurately.
  5. Proactively resolve Customer challenges to resolve any design, quality or other print related matters, building strong trusting relationships.
  6. Ensure the total integrity and timeliness of all data and inputs required for Customer, Crescent and Key Partners’ operating and planning systems.

Productivity

  1. Lead all project status meetings for cross functional areas.
  2. Provide detailed reporting and updates by maintaining a master project tracker.
  3. Validate merchandising structures for promotional concepts to determine cost analysis for moving forward.
  4. Assist in any meetings to provide additional insight on a program for deliverables both internally and externally.
  5. Manage Speed-to-market initiatives and aggressive/compressed timelines across Partner Relationships and Customer Stakeholders.
  6. Coordinate Retailer-mandated display samples at Retailer Innovation/Lab Sites.
  7. Drive the Pricing, Pricing Approval and Customers’ purchase orders process.

People

  1. Be versed on Crescent’s People strategy and how it positively impacts our Customer and Key Partner.
  2. Build and maintain strategic alignment between the Customer, Key Partner, corporate support teams and plant/operating teams.

Customer Value

  1. Lead the Customer creative review process including feedback, providing the Customer with advice on innovation, feasibility and production efficiencies.
  2. Attend Customer briefings and meetings for all new projects and work directly with any Customer vendors and their Agencies to capture relevant changes/updates to specifications and timelines.
  3. Drive effective communication and updates between our Customer and their vendors, our Key Partner and our site management and support teams, ensuring open and transparent lines of communication.
  4. Liaise with Crescent sites and Crescent Key Partners’ sites to manage production scheduling and prioritize to ensure Customer timelines are met.

Financial

  1. Ensure pricing is captured on time and accurately.
  2. Coordinate and provide inputs to the turnkey estimating process, confirming pricing is competitive and is aligned with the contractual rate card.
  3. Evaluate the financial performance of the Customer and propose actions for improvement.
  4. Maintain adherence to MSA Standards, Scope of Work, and Material & Labor Rates (if applicable).
  5. Provide insight on how we can strategically grow with the Customer.

All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to identifying and training an individual capable of successfully completing all stated Essential Duties and Responsibilities as appropriate to maintain integrity of position for progression planning and coverage during times of absence.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Fast-paced environment, requiring the Sr. BM to adapt to continuous changes in schedules, work and project volumes, and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to Customer site(s) or Crescent locations, as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Extensive experience managing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies’ promotional design and project management
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Marketing, Communications; or a related field
  • Operational experience and/or Associate’s Degree may be substituted for Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced leader of teams and projects strongly desired
  • Excellent communication and marketing skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing or supporting Customer projects, ideally within Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), logistics, or marketing execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to professionally engage across multiple levels (internal and external)
  • Comfortable using MS Office Suite, video conferencing tools (e.g., Teams/Zoom), and project tracking platforms (e.g., Nulogy, SAP, etc.)
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines, shift priorities quickly, and track multiple deliverables
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration, especially between sales, operations, and supply chain teams

Pay Range

$120,000 - $135,000 USD
