
Associate/Senior Associate, Investment Professional
Crestline Investors, Inc., founded in 1997 and based in Fort Worth, Texas, is an institutional alternative investment management firm. Crestline specializes in credit and opportunistic investments, including financing and restructuring solutions for mature private equity funds. In addition, the firm manages a multi-PM equity market-neutral hedge fund, and provides beta and hedging solutions for institutional clients. The company maintains affiliate offices in New York City, London, Toronto and Tokyo.
We are seeking an experienced Associate/Senior Associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our investment team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the analysis and execution of investment strategies within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The position will be based at Crestline Investor's New York City office.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Managing Directors and portfolio managers in the research, analysis, and documentation of public and private credit investments including par, stressed, distressed and catalyst driven opportunities in leveraged loans, high yield bonds and opportunistic private financings
- Utilize Crestline’s underwriting guidelines, deal-specific cash flow, claims and recoveries and scenario modeling, and review of credit documents, as well as all available sources of information (e.g., offering materials, bond indentures or credit agreements, roadshows, published research, news, financial reporting, rating agency reports, and market color) to create clear, comprehensive, and authoritative credit memoranda
- Develop and maintain a database of actionable and potentially actionable investment ideas, triage leveraged loan and high yield new issue, track operating performance and trading levels of target investments
- Build accurate, stable, and flexible cashflow analyses, restructuring analyses, liquidation analyses and sensitivity analyses to facilitate investment decision-making and risk evaluation
- Conduct due diligence on private credit opportunities, including industry and company research, management team meetings and detailed third party research
- Obtain and review portfolio company financial statements to draft and maintain ongoing monitoring reports, including updating financial models
- Assist in the creation of internal memos/emails to communicate market or issuer/industry developments to internal constituents (PMs, senior management, Investment Committee)
- Aggregate thorough, accurate, and timely market data sets to support deal research, trading, instrument valuation, and presentations to management and sales and marketing professionals
- Effectively communicate with investment professionals across Crestline’s various investment groups
- Prepare timely and accurate periodic and ad-hoc exposure and performance reports for management
- Establishing a broad network with analysts at broker/dealers and other funds to facilitate research and investment sourcing
- Attend relevant industry conferences
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
- 3 – 5 years’ work experience including investment banking and/or restructuring advisory and a buy- or sell-side capital markets role investing in corporate credit (leveraged loans, high yield, special situations)
- Undergraduate (and/or MBA or JD) degree from a top-tier university
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Entrepreneurial and self-directed with a demonstrated ability to succeed with limited supervision
- Intellectual curiosity and confidence to drive research Q&A to uncover and answer critical issues in investment process
- Record of success working in a collaborative environment with a commitment to the success of the team in addition to individual success

- Understanding of accounting, finance, bankruptcy, credit agreements and bond indentures, and economics via basic coursework or experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Bloomberg, CapitalIQ
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Travel will be required
Compensation
- Base Salary Range: $120k to $180k per year, contingent on experience.
- Discretionary annual bonus eligible.
