Senior Front-End React Developer - Contract
The Senior Front-End Developer (SFED) is responsible for designing and writing code and providing support to web applications. The SFED is able to work independently, assuming ownership for the design, interface and programming of simple and complex web sites. The SFED should also be able to provide solutions and estimates for their tasks in support of his/her Tech Lead
The SFED works with web applications and a variety of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, and is comfortable with content management systems.
You will:
- Develop web applications that follow the latest standards and conform with leading-edge front-end technologies.
- Work closely with Creative, Business, Technology, and QA teams to ensure the solution meets the requirements and performance targets (mobile, desktop).
- Responsible for developing web applications and ensuring they follow the overall technical architecture and design established by the technical lead.
- Implement user and business requirements composed of multiple development activities.
- Maintain up-to-date and complete project documentation as dictated by the capability’s guidelines and best practices.
- Debug or troubleshoot complex issues in existing web applications.
- Proactively provide feedback on policies and procedures when an opportunity for improvement exists.
- Proactively provide guidance and support to other members to fulfill their tasks and improve their performance and overall technical skills.
You have:
- Advanced English Proficiency (B2+ reading, writing, and conversation)
- 4+ years of experience working with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with React.js and other mainstream JavaScript libraries/frameworks (e.g., jQuery, Angular, VueJS).
- Work experience with cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
- Experience with digital agency projects, web development projects, and SCRUM/Agile methodologies.
- Work experience integrating web solutions with external web services.
- Excellent understanding of recent development practices such as Mobile First, MVC, and Object-Oriented Development.
- Strong knowledge of design patterns (e.g., Model-View-Controller, Observer, Object-Oriented).
- Fluency with data transfer formats and protocols (e.g., JSON, XML, HTTP).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., ARIA, WCAG, ADA) and SEO best practices.
- Familiarity with automation and pre-processing tools (e.g., Gulp, Grunt, SASS, LESS).
- Proficiency in pre-processing CSS styling using tools like SASS or LESS.
- Capable of working with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN, Mercurial).
- Experience with the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence) is a plus.
- Familiarity with GraphQL, AWS, and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus.
- Capable of writing modern, standards-compliant, and accessible code.
- Proficient in building proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Skilled at troubleshooting, debugging, and conducting root cause analysis of web application issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience as a Software Developer is a plus.
