Job Description

CSCI is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to provide expert-level analytical support to a government client. This role focuses on executing data analysis and modeling in a structured, methodical way to support mission-critical operations. The Data Scientist will work with both structured and unstructured data to develop predictive algorithms, extract insights, and improve key customer and operational performance metrics. This position is ideal for someone with deep experience in data processing, statistical analysis, and the use of Statistical Analysis System (SAS) to support data-driven decision-making in a high-impact environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support in running analysis and analytical experiments using structured and unstructured data
  • Evaluate alternative models using theoretical approaches
  • Identify and exploit data assets to uncover new patterns and create business value
  • Develop analyses and models to improve customer and operational Key Process Indicators (KPIs)
  • Build predictive models and advanced algorithms to extract and classify information from large datasets
  • Analyze data and develop robust statistical and predictive algorithms/models that drive product outputs
  • Identify meaningful patterns and trends to expose new business opportunities
  • Translate results into understandable and actionable output that answers real business questions

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data processing, data analytics, statistical analysis, and data mining
  • Deep expertise with SAS and related data analytics tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and build predictive models using various machine learning and statistical techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of how to translate data into business insights
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M and DFARS 252.239-7001 Information Assurance Contractor Training and Certification requirements
  • IA Technical (IAT) IA Management (IAM) Level: IAM III (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GSLC)
  • Oracle based - CE/Operating System Certification 

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
  • Past experience working with a federal agency 
  • Department of Defense experience is a plus!
