
Audit and Risk Management Analyst
Job Description
CSCI Consulting is looking for a detail-oriented Audit and Risk Management Analyst to support financial reporting, audit resolution, and compliance activities within a federal agency. This role involves coordinating improper payment reporting, single audit resolution, and risk assessment processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with federal financial regulations, and the ability to manage complex reporting requirements in a collaborative environment
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and coordinating improper payments and questioned costs sections of financial reports, tracking inputs, and managing reviewer feedback
- Support single audit resolution efforts, including strategic planning, resolving findings, and communicating policies and reports to stakeholders
- Coordinate and prepare materials for internal and external meetings; manage timelines and deliverables for year-end reporting and OMB data calls
- Review and analyze risk assessments and improper payment reports; maintain program inventories and update procedures to ensure compliance with federal requirements
- Monitor and improve reporting processes and portals, such as the Improper Payment Risk Assessment Portal, and recommend enhancements
- Develop and update standard operating procedures and training materials related to audit and risk management activities
- Provide administrative support including document management, drafting briefing materials, and facilitating communication across divisions
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in federal financial reporting, audit support, or related accounting roles
- Past experience working with a federal agency
- Familiarity with improper payment reporting requirements, single audit processes, and federal financial compliance frameworks
- Strong organizational and communication skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple contributors and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management tools such as SharePoint
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
- Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presence
Preferred Skills
- Experience with federal audit and reporting systems such as PaymentAccuracy.gov or similar
- Knowledge of OMB Circulars, federal financial management regulations, and executive orders related to fraud and improper payments
- Experience drafting policies, standard operating procedures, and training materials
- Prior involvement in coordinating single audit resolution activities or audit liaison functions
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
- Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
- Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
