Cloud Integration Staff Engineer (Hybrid)

We are looking for a highly skilled cloud integration software engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and implementing cloud-native solutions for integrating enterprise data processing and autonomous edge systems. Strong communication and leadership skills are highly valued.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Architect and develop cloud-native solutions that integrate autonomous systems, edge computing, and machine learning components
- Collaborate in the design of open APIs to support integration across multiple disparate systems
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, and efficient Kubernetes-based infrastructures
- Lead a team in the development of edge computing solutions that seamlessly integrate with cloud platforms and enterprise systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into production environments
- Implement enterprise integration strategies, connecting cloud-native systems with diverse data sources
- Design and optimize edge integration solutions for autonomous devices and distributed systems
- Architect and implement streaming data processing pipelines and data lake solutions
- Contribute to program technical strategy and drive innovation with cloud-native and government open technologies
This position requires onsite work up to 40% of the time once local office is opened.
Requirements
Necessary Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years focused on cloud-native technologies
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes, including custom resource definitions, operators, and advanced networking concepts
- Proficiency in edge computing architectures and technologies
- Hands-on experience integrating machine learning models into production environments
- Expert-level programming skills in an object-oriented language such as Go, Python, or Java
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Proven experience in enterprise integration, including API design, messaging systems, and data integration patterns
- Strong knowledge of edge integration technologies and protocols (e.g., Kafka, MQTT, CoAP, OPC-UA)
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in mentoring, team building, and driving technical initiatives
- The ability to obtain a US security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Expertise in implementing event-driven architectures and microservices
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies
- Experience with edge-to-cloud data synchronization and offline-first architectures
- Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd)
- Familiarity with GitOps practices and tools
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and frameworks
- Familiarity with UAS and autonomous systems
- Proficiency with Apache Kafka and other message streaming platforms
- Experience designing and implementing data lake solutions data federation techniques and technologies
- Expertise in streaming data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Flink, Apache Spark Streaming)
- Experience with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and their integration into cloud ecosystems
- Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, protocols, and architectures
- Contributions to open-source projects in the cloud-native ecosystem
- Track record of successful technical leadership and delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
