EMEA Remote

About Customer.io

Over 9,000 companies — from scrappy startups to global brands — use our platform to send billions of emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS every day. Customer.io powers automated communication that people actually want to receive. We help teams send smarter, more relevant messages using real-time behavioral data.

About the role

Hi, I'm Rebekah Fellinger, Senior BDR Manager here at Customer.io, and I'm thrilled to be expanding. We’re looking for an Outbound BDR to join our team and help us connect with potential customers.

As an Outbound BDR, you’ll be at the forefront of our outreach efforts — proactively identifying and engaging potential customers, researching target accounts, initiating conversations, and qualifying leads for our Account Executives. You’ll collaborate closely with both marketing and sales to make sure our outreach strategies are effective and building a strong pipeline.

We don’t expect you to be an expert from day one. What matters most is your curiosity, your passion for connecting with people, and your commitment to driving new business growth. Our team will support you as you learn and develop in your role.

What we value

  • Curiosity — you’re always looking for ways to improve and learn
  • Clear communication — you can articulate ideas concisely and compellingly
  • Resilience — you stay motivated and bounce back from rejection
  • Organization — you manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Collaboration — you thrive working across teams and welcome feedback
  • Drive — you’re self-motivated, target-oriented, and hungry to grow

What you’ll do

  • Research and identify target accounts using various tools and resources, building a robust prospect list
  • Initiate outreach through cold calls, emails, and social media to generate interest and qualify needs
  • Qualify leads based on business fit, timing, and readiness to speak with an Account Executive
  • Schedule high-quality meetings between interested decision-makers and our sales team
  • Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions and pipeline status in our CRM
  • Collaborate with marketing to refine outreach strategies and improve lead generation processes
  • Nurture relationships with prospects who are interested but not yet ready to engage fully
  • Regularly update your manager and team on outreach activity and progress toward goals

What we're looking for

  • Strong communication skills and genuine enjoyment connecting with new people
  • Resilience with rejection and the self-motivation to keep pushing toward targets
  • Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce or HubSpot
  • A proven track record in lead generation and outreach
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment

Preferred:

  • 1–2 years of experience in a similar outbound sales role, ideally in SaaS or tech
  • Prior outbound sales experience at a SaaS company
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies and lead generation strategies
  • Business Proficient Language: French
  • Willingness to travel for team events (approximately 1-2x per quarter)

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in transparency. Compensation for this role is $65,000 base + $32,095 variable = $97,095 OTE (or equivalent in local currency) depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.

We know our people are what make us great, and we’re committed to taking great care of them. Our inclusive benefits package supports your well-being and growth, including 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and supplemental insurance premiums for you and your family. We also offer 16 weeks paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, stipends for remote work and wellness, a professional development budget, and more.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

How do you know if you have a disability?
