Purpose

The Czinger 21C is a record breaking hypercar, designed and built in California, utilizing the Divergent Adaptive Production System. As we embark on our next vehicle program, we are seeking a talented and experienced Hybrid Powertrain Systems Engineer to join our team based in Torrance.

The Role

  • Design, development and testing of hybrid powertrain systems and components, such as E-Motors, Inverters, HV Battery.
  • Utilize CAD to design and integrate hybrid system components into Czinger vehicles.
  • Manage system and component suppliers during the development phase.
  • Collaborate with the Certification team to ensure systems and components meet the necessary legal requirements.
  • Plan and execute tasks in accordance with the CZV Product Development Plan, meeting all gateways, from concept through to production.
  • Support the build and commissioning of prototype test vehicles. Diagnosis and rectification of issues.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the latest technologies and trends in your domain. Be a recognized expert for High Voltage and Hybrid drive systems.
  • Develop concepts for future Czinger vehicle applications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Through understanding of hybrid powertrain architecture, systems and components.
  • Previous experience in hybrid powertrain design, development and testing.
  • Proficient in Computer Aided Design
  • High Voltage Safety Training
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and certification standards (eg. R100, UN38.3)
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Can collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners.
  • Has a solution orientated approach and takes ownership of given responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in 800V+ Battery design
  • Experience using NX and Teamcenter
  • Prior experience in high performance automotive or motorsport environment

Compensation

At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at level E05 - E06 as evaluated through our interview process. 

  • Senior Engineer / E05: $122,400 - $168,300
  • Lead Engineer / E06: $141,400- $194,400
