Director of Business Development
We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Director of Business Development to lead our geothermal heat pump sales efforts.
In this pivotal role, you will be a critical part of the new team delivering Dandelion’s growth with new construction production developers and other large scale B2B opportunities. Get a rapid jumpstart supporting leadership’s existing customer pipeline while simultaneously building your own book of business. Expect to work directly with department leadership to shape and implement the growth of our new construction team and offerings.
This role is an in-person position based out of our DC headquarters in Arlington or our Boston-based headquarters in Somerville, MA.
Responsibilities:
Build and Expand Sales Channels for Dandelion’s Heat Pumps:
- Establish and nurture relationships with potential buyers of our geothermal heat pumps (construction firms, HVAC installers, utilities etc.)
- Attend industry and regional events to evangelize our heat pump and connect with potential buyers.
- Deepen and broaden connections within established accounts.
Collaborate with Product and Marketing to Develop a Winning Go-to-market Strategy:
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for channel growth.
- Provide insights and feedback to product and marketing to refine strategies
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies with channel partners.
Nature and expand channel partner performance:
- Ensure partners are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to successfully sell and promote Dandelion’s heat pump.
- Regularly report on sales, performance metrics, and business opportunities to senior leadership.
- Use data and analytics to refine strategies and improve partner performance
- Provide forecasts for future revenue and sales from channel partners.
Achieve and Surpass Sales Targets:
- Develop a prospective customer list; build and develop your own customer pipeline regionally and nationally.
- Close business equal to or greater than your bookings targets!
Qualifications
- 8+ years experience in a business development and/or sales role
- Track record of crafting go-to-market strategies for new products
- Track record of building a pipeline and generating leads
- Experience working in a startup environment
- Bachelor's degree from a four year university (honors always recognized!)
