š About the job:
Dandelion Energy is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, and strategic management of more than 150 company-owned vehicles, heavy equipment, and related assets. Reporting to our VP of Drilling, this role plays a vital part in supporting our geothermal installation teams by ensuring our fleet runs safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Youāll collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and leadership to drive continuous improvement across fleet operations ā and help shape a more sustainable future along the way.
š ļø Responsibilities:
- Oversee acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles, heavy equipment, and related assets
- Develop and implement fleet management policies, procedures, and strategies
- Partner with Finance to evaluate buy vs. lease decisions for construction vehicles
- Track and manage fleet inventory, maintenance schedules, and replacement planning
- Create and oversee maintenance programs in partnership with internal mechanics and external vendors
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local fleet-related regulations (e.g., DOT, IFTA, HUT)
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure proper allocation of equipment to meet operational needs
- Maintain vendor and service provider relationships to ensure cost-effective, reliable support
- Analyze fleet data to identify trends, reduce costs, and improve operational performance
- Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and ownership within the fleet and field teams

ā Must-haves:
- 7+ years of experience managing a fleet of vehicles and/or heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations, safety regulations, and vendor management
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Willingness and ability to work in our Peekskill, NY office at least 3 days per week (unless traveling)
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed to understand operational needs

- Experience in field service or construction fleet operations
- Familiarity with fleet management software and tracking systems
- Prior experience in clean tech, geothermal, or residential HVAC industries
- Previous experience at a startup or rapidly growing company
š°Compensation:
The expected base salary for this exempt role in New York is $105,000-$130,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also has an equity component as part of the overall compensation package.
