Cloud Engineer - Journeyman

As a Journeyman Cloud Engineer, you will support the design, planning, and integration of cloud computing and virtualization systems under the guidance of senior team members. You will assist in hardware and software selection, evaluate cloud service providers, and implement effective strategies. Your focus will be on learning and applying best practices in cloud technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, planning, and integration of cloud computing and virtualization systems.
  • Support hardware and software selection processes for cloud environments.
  • Evaluate cloud service providers and their offerings.
  • Implement and test cloud systems, ensuring functionality and performance.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and emerging technologies related to cloud deployment and service delivery models.
  • Contribute to systems engineering efforts by translating product requirements into effective system solutions.
  • Integrate System Security Engineering activities, working towards Zero Trust Architecture and DoD policy compliance while adhering to NIST 800-53 requirements.
  • Support process management tasks and apply principles of Project Management, DEVSECOPS, Agile methodologies, and Automation where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-10 years of experience in a related IT field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
  • Basic understanding of networking and security principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Cloud Engineer - Senior

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will take a leading role in designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud solutions. You will provide technical guidance to junior team members and be responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of our cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, planning, and implementation of cloud computing and virtualization systems.
  • Make recommendations for hardware and software selection based on project requirements.
  • Evaluate cloud service providers and negotiate service agreements.
  • Implement and manage cloud systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards and emerging technologies related to cloud deployment and service delivery models.
  • Lead systems engineering efforts by translating product requirements into effective system solutions.
  • Integrate System Security Engineering activities in alignment with Zero Trust Architecture and DoD policies while ensuring adherence to NIST 800-53 requirements.
  • Implement and manage automation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
  • Support process management tasks and employ principles of Project Management, DEVSECOPS, Agile methodologies, and Automation whenever applicable.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10-16 years of experience in a related IT field.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud computing concepts, technologies, and architectures.
  • Extensive experience with at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, networking, and security principles.
  • Proven ability to design and implement complex cloud solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Cloud Engineer - Subject Matter Expert (SME)

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Cloud Engineer, you will be a recognized authority in cloud technologies and architectures. You will provide strategic guidance, technical leadership, and mentorship to the entire team. You will be responsible for driving innovation and ensuring our cloud solutions align with industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership on cloud technologies and architectures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on complex cloud-related issues.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption within the organization.
  • Develop and implement cloud strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Integrate System Security Engineering activities in alignment with Zero Trust Architecture and DoD policies while ensuring adherence to NIST 800-53 requirements.
  • Mentor and coach senior team members.
  • Participate in industry events and contribute to the cloud computing community.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 16+ years of experience in a related IT field.
  • Expert-level knowledge of cloud computing concepts, technologies, and architectures.
  • Deep experience with multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Extensive understanding of virtualization technologies, networking, and security principles.
  • Proven ability to lead and innovate in a cloud-centric environment.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Active participation in the cloud computing community.

This position is located in Omaha, NE. The estimated salary range for these positions are:
Mid - $90,000.00 - $110,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset
Senior - $140,000.00 - $160,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset
SME - $160,000.00 - $190,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset
