Dashlane is seeking a talented EU Legal Counsel - Contracts to join a small but impactful legal team in a leading cybersecurity company with European roots and an established commitment to innovation. About the Role:
As our Legal Counsel - Contracts, you will be instrumental in managing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts that fuel our business growth. You will have primary responsibility for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of our routine legal agreements, contributing directly to Dashlane's continued success in the dynamic cybersecurity landscape. You will work closely with our Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams, be deeply involved with the procurement process, and have frequent and wide-ranging exposure to stakeholders across the organization. This position offers broad exposure to various aspects of our legal operations within a fast-paced and evolving tech environment, and the opportunity to have significant influence over the evolution of the role over time.
Location:
You will be based in Lisbon, with English as your working language. We offer a hybrid work arrangement. Tuesday is the company day, where we all collaborate in the office and have a company-sponsored meal, a department day for team bonding (will be Thursday for your department), and a third day of your choice. You will report directly to the General Counsel, who is based in our New York office.
At Dashlane, you will:
- Review, mark-up, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements, including customer and vendor contracts, NDAs, and more.
- Take primary day-to-day responsibility for customer and vendor contract negotiation and administration.
- Respond to legal questionnaires and provide legal support on routine matters both internally and externally.
- Assist with broad-based compliance initiatives, including developing, monitoring, and improving systems for automated compliance with Privacy Laws such as GDPR.
- Partner closely with the Security organization, including with supporting the coordination and oversight of Dashlane’s ISO and SOC 2 certification programs.
- Contribute to other areas of the legal function, such as procurement, corporate affairs, IP portfolio, employment matters, and litigation/conflict support, as needed.
- Translate technical concepts into plain language for various stakeholders.
Requirements:
- EU-trained and registered attorney.
- Minimum of four years of experience in either or a combination of commercial law firms or technology companies.
- Strong experience in dealing with commercial contracts and licensing agreements (e.g., SaaS, subscription).
- Ability to negotiate legal documents in French and English.
- Familiarity with GDPR.
- Solution-oriented, business mindset.
